Well done everyone...fantastic signing!This for me is the big news. 12 months would have been good, but there have been more two years deals handed out by Johnson this season than by Dickov in the last two. Whether that is board backing or not, I don't know, but he is setting his stall out. I've a proper spring in my step now; works mates a pissing themselves at how excited i've got over this signing; i'm buzzing. We've 5 strikers - Rooney, Baxter, MacDonald, JCH, Millar and at a push Sid and Dayton could gonup there. All our players too, which is massive. Roll on Saturday, can't wait now! Commercial efforts really seem to have stepped up a gear and become more visible this summer. I like that in the story about LJ's views on the Rooney signing there's a neat little footnote pointing out that he's available for sponsorship. As much as the rampant commercialisation of football is depressing, it's a canny move to capitalise on the good feeling around the signing to draw in some funds, and not something I remember seeing in the past. Yeah I noticed that too......credit to the commercial dept, might only be a little thing but I think they have come on leaps and bounds in the close season.......now if only we could get a decent web designer!!! By the way, I didn't realized that Rooney had been on loan at Yeovil, several years back. Get the centre of defence a bit stronger and I reckon the latics may just kick a few teams up the butt, this season. Looking forward to it! Think quite a bit of money must have been freed up from Mvoto, Furman, Simpson, Croft, Cisak, and to a lesser extent Bouzanis and Smith. I am looking to attend my first game in nearly 10 Years as I am coming over from the US first week in August. Will hopefully catch the first home league game.
