oafc_lover
First season in charge at Yeovil - won FA trophy; The following season - won the Conference; The one after that - missed League Two playoffs on goal difference; The next one - won the division. Then he went to Bristol City and took them from 22nd in League One to end the season 9th; The following season - won promotion; The one after that - missed promotion to the Prem, losing in the playoff final. Admittedly, he had a pretty disastrous spell at Northampton. Went back to Yeovil and picked up 30 points from 19 games to avoid relegation. The following season - won promotion. It would have been a massive achievement to keep Yeovil up last season. Yes, they've had a crap season this time around but it doesn't make him a bad manager. On the basis of the above, he's one of the best realistic targets we'd have if Lee does go to Barnsley. Fair enough but if I recall correctly, Yeovil had a bloody good budget for a non-league side so he did what SHOULD have been done. The promotion to the Championship with Yeovil was a huge achievement though, I won't deny him of that. Wouldn't want him personally. I think his style differs from Lee's and we don't want a change in philosophy just before the playoff push...

leeslover
We are assuming that GJ would fancy it. Presumably he lives in the Southwest and he's nearly 60 for starters.

Scholes or Tommy Wright would still be my 1st two choices but if we were to go down the experience route Gary Johnson would be a very good pick. NewBlue
Why on earth would anybody want Scholes as manager? For a start his punditry on TV is nothing short of terrible.

24hoursfromtulsehill
Well...let's put it this way... If Corney's policy is what I think it is, we'll be getting a first-timer who's recently quit playing or will soon be quitting playing. The chances of Johnson Snr, Hill and so on paying to play are zero, therefore they will not manage us.
NewBlue
Always the most important criterion that... You can tell from how somebody speaks whether or not they're able to manage and lead men. I'd be amazed if he ever goes into management. Also it's a glimpse into how he's able to analyse as an observer, and he's dreadful.
