If they couldn't afford to write it off, they shouldn't have put it in. Not like it's added £6m worth of value, is it?

Sorry but that doesn't make sense.

Why shouldn't owners put money in in the hope of recouping it? Has it added value ? Well

- Without their investment we wouldn't exist. Remember how close we were to going bust when Moores left? The clubs value is certainly worth more than that of a liquidated entity.

If the attitude was "put money in and expect to write it off" then we won't get new investors/owners .

It's a football club, it's not a normal business. If you're going to underwrite it, you can't expect to get the full value back, unless your leadership sees an improvement in performance, either on the field or off it. Shrinking the core attendance and seeing a stagnation on the field isn't going to cut the mustard when it comes to setting your asking price. I'm not saying they have to write off the full £6m. But they can't expect to get it all back either.

That seems a little different to what you first said.

They have got planning permissions for various developments such as housing . To them that is increasing the value of the business . The new stand is better than the old one. Value of the ground has increased .

Don't disagree that it would be worth more if crowds were bigger etc but the owners as Singe says still feel there's potential to recoup .

You now say that they shouldn't write all the investment off - how much is reasonable in your view?

Urgh, stuff like this makes me want to go and support FC United.

Depends what they include in the package. If it's just "the club" and none of the land etc - :censored: all.

Should we be happy that they've split the land from the club and sold :censored:loads of it off for housing/parking and whatever else? Should we be happy that they've created a revenue generating stand for which said revenues will go into another company separate from the club? Should we also be happy that they made poor decisions in running the club which meant they squandered an awful lot of that £6m, and that the club then still owes them every single penny of it? Should we be happy that all of this gets in the way of us finding a buyer for the club who actual has an active interest in the club's fortunes?

Should we just be happy with whatever they choose to do with the club, based on the supposition that it wouldn't still exist if they hadn't come along?

Its a shame the whole business has been carved up into lots of different businesses then, the problem we now have is it muddies the water for any new prospective buyer, OEC, carparks, housing projects, land already sold, matchday revenue, little wembley and the football team itself should of been kept under one umbrella they are not so whilst we also have the 6-8 million 'debt' around our neck our owners will just keep picking the bits out of our club until we have nothing left. Its not difficult to see why we are in decline when the football team itself is run on a break even as its the part of the buisnesses that TTA dont want, they have fallen out of love with it in the same way most of our fans have.

What are you going to do about it?

No we shouldn't be . But that's an entirely different point to putting forward a piece of wishful thinking - that they should write off their investment

It ain't going to happen no matter how unhappy any of us are. And that's the problem .

It might happen.

It could happen voluntarily if we get relegated - they may choose to pull out, as per Frankly's thread

It could happen voluntarily if they put us into administration - not sure why they'd want to though

It could happen against their wishes - someone else might put us into administration, for example as a result of a boycott etc

The fans would have to want it to happen though.

Were any questions asked about exactly how Latics are benefiting from all the stuff that OEC will be making money from in the N stand eg events, box hospitality, bars, meetings, meals, conferences etc?

Hopefully they will be keeping it all, the quicker they earn the quicker they will be gone.

Especially when we still owe them £8m. No matter how much money theyve made from building housing estates, hospital wards, selling players etc.

That's on the assumption that none of that revenue went towards covering our annual losses, thankfully decreasing, of the last however many years.
