astottie Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 Why am I in London tonight?! Three a piece forty minutes to go Quote
astottie Posted August 30, 2016 Author Posted August 30, 2016 Last time this happened I reckon Liddel Hughes and Taylor were the scorers Quote
bigfatjoe1 Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 4-3. sounds like a cracking second half. just under 2,000. actually more than i expected, even with the deals. Quote
palmer1 Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 (edited) As much as I don't care for the competition it may work out to be a God send. Confidence in attack will be high for the league games ahead. With Clarke we are solid but now we can score! Edited August 30, 2016 by palmer1 Quote
sjk2008 Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 It sounds as though Kettings is quite terrible. Quote
daniel Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 Is there a pen shootout in the event of a draw? Quote
astottie Posted August 30, 2016 Author Posted August 30, 2016 I've never seen a 4-4. One 5-4 though as if we'll ever forget Quote
astottie Posted August 30, 2016 Author Posted August 30, 2016 Is there a pen shootout in the event of a draw? Not sure but don't think so as its a league Quote
Lee Sinnott Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 I've never seen a 4-4. One 5-4 though as if we'll ever forget I've seen one. Against Bristol Rovers in 97. We went three up, got pegged back, went 4-3 up and then got pegged back again. Haven't seen a 5-4 as I was back in the pub at 0-3... Quote
Gaz_Oafc Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 There are three points for a win, one point for a draw - but drawn matches will go straight to penalties, with an extra point awarded to penalty shoot-out winners. Quote
blueatheart Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 Burgess at fault for at least three of these. Quote
bigfatjoe1 Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 5-4 down against 10 men!!! It's like the old days. Well, it wasn't boring for those who made the effort. Quote
astottie Posted August 30, 2016 Author Posted August 30, 2016 So does this reinforce how good/important Ripley and Calrke are? Also that we have to play a defensive midfielder?I know people are talking about wingers and strikers before TDD but I think we need a back up centre half as well for when Clarke gets banned/injured Quote
Senor_Coconut Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 Burgess at fault for at least three of these. BP 1960 should resign from the board at once. Quote

yarddog73 Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 Burgess had an absolute mare, Edmondson not far behind. In midfield Woodland and Banks just don't do enough and why Banks plays every dead ball I will never know, he over or under hits 90 percent of his dead balls, Mackay linked up well with Lapado and showed some promise but the real stars for me where Croft and Osei who completely changed the game for us, unfortunately our defence had a shocker all four of them could of been subbed at halftime, god knows what would happen if we lost Clarke and Green because they must be holding us together at times, not too disappointed plenty to look forward too with the four strikers who contributed tonight. Quote
thetramfixer Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 Also that we have to play a defensive midfielder? Apart from the few decent bits in the 2nd half, I would have happily swapped Banks for Fane at half time! Quote

Useful squad player. Quote
yarddog73 Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 Agree he was better second half in a deeper role, no more than a squad player for me and I'm sure SR must have had him down as a starter in front of Fane but he's done little to prove he deserves a place in a starting eleven. Quote
RobOAFC Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 Burgess at fault for at least three of these. Kettings also at fault for at least 2 aswell. Shocking defending at set-pieces from everyone. Quote
mcfluff1985 Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 Well I'm glad I didn't boycott that. Can anyone remember a time when we had so many strikers looking good that the attack won't be an automatic next game? Ladapo was brilliant, McKay brilliant, Osei fantastic and obviously Erwin has been great. Quote
