North Stand Tannoy !#*?!

Does anyone know how much membership to the gym would cost for August to May, because I’m yet to be at a game this season where I haven’t been able to see something in the gym? Presumably gym members park for free on a match day too. I wonder if you can drink alcohol in the gym too? Given the different ownership of the stand to the club, if I was AL I’d be looking to sort that out pretty quickly.

The disco lights yesterday were very much irritating, and it wasn’t just the second half they were on but due to the darkness were more noticeable. At one point I thought someone in the main stand had a laser pointer out.

Gym membership is 16.99 a month. The shutters are down in the main part of the gym whilst the match is on. The studio upstairs has no shutters, but there are no classes on in there on a Saturday afternoon. The people (I only saw one) were staff at the gym. As for parking, you have to obtain a pass in the week prior to a match day to get in the car park. There aren't many available and it is a first come, first served basis...

For the 100 club and people in the boxes parking is free, convenient and pleasantly surrounded by small trees and bushes. :tongue1:

One even has working class people to move the cones if one desires. I have no complaints.

For the plebs there is always the bus or tram (whatever that is) or B & Q. It is the way of the modern world.

You are right, it's tough life these days compared to when I caught the bus to the hospital and trekked down Sheepfoot Lane to join 42,000 other poor souls.

Incidentally, the tannoys didnt work back then either, so not a lot changes.

Except that the car parking isn't free for the 100 club, merely part of the cost of the season ticket price. And for clarity, most 100 club members are not privileged types, most are just of an age where they spend their available cash on their particular love and interest with a modicum of comfort and convenience.

I once walked down Sheepfoot Lane before a match with Alan Young, who got off the same bus as me.

He was carrying his boots and played that afternoon.

Can't imagine first team players today doing that.

I also was with Alan Groves in Littlewoods cafe, who had a big breakfast before going on to play a blinder in a match a few hours later.

And there was me thinking that I was surrounded by the great and the good on Saturday. It would be like living in Uppermill

Winchester used to get the bus on matchday.

I thought one of our sponsors was a specialist in this area, and as part of the sponsorship rectifies things like this for free, or at least at a reduced price. I can't understand why it has taken so long. The Jimmy Frizzell stand tannoy was fixed at the beginning of the season.
