ls it covid passport required over the border?

Presumably not, as the crowd won’t be above 10,000 (or over 4,000 standing).

Masks need to be worn on public transport, including transport for Wales trains running in England, such as the train from Manchester to Newport.

Essentially it’s the same rules as England were supposed to be following a couple of weeks ago.

Yes still required. From our website about the Newport Game;

Restrictions

Due to current Welsh Government rules, please note all supporters attending must be able to produce one of the following upon arrival to the ground:

  • A digital NHS COVID pass.
  • A paper NHS COVID pass.
  • Proof of a recent negative Lateral Flow Test.

Isn’t that interesting.  I agree with Rudemedic. I read the Welsh government web site as saying COVID passports are required for all indoor events, for standing events over 4,000 and all events over 10,000.

It is possible our club’s admin has got this out of date. Should someone contact Newport to check?

So I emailed Newport. The reply was

“The same still applies from our press release on the website from October.”

https://www.newport-county.co.uk/news/2021/october/club-statement-covid-passes/

So I’m guessing no one has told them that on 28th Jan 2022 Wales moved to Alert Level 0 and the rules changed.

Shops and trains still ask people to wear masks - not a rule

Very true. Wearing masks is still compulsory in Wales on Public transport and indoor places, in shops, doctors, hospitals or care homes

it is just about the only must do in Wales.
