  1. Sounded great. Even being a miserable git I didn't find it annoying and it added to the atmosphere, well done! Not sure if it'll have the same effect when we've only got 3,000 fans there but worth a try. You should definitely bring it to the Everton game.
  2. Great post and sums up how I feel about the moaning bunch!
  3. Simpson should never have been booked for his "foul" on Jones. How their players escaped a booking I don't know - he had his shirt torn open! At the time I thought Sterling's tackle on Changy should have been a red but re-watching, a yellow was right. I thought he should have had a second yellow for a professional foul in the second half. It was no better than Smith's shirt tug which earned him a yellow. Speaking of shirt tugs, there was a clear one on Byrne in their penalty area (think by Skrtel) shortly before half time. It was no different to the one which Smith got booked for yet no action by the ref. Its all the more sweet that their fans are moaning about the ref when their players routinely cheat and get away with it. Skrtel falling down holding his face after fouling Smith was disgusting behaviour - not an isolated incident either. I don't watch much Premier League football and Sunday reinforced why. I think we see too much gamesmanship in League 1 but the Liverpool players were the most negative I've seen in this respect this season.
  4. I actually agree with this. From watching the game on ITV player last night, apart from the lack of stand (which wasn't noticeable on most of the footage), I thought it looked like a charming little place! Re PD's body language. I didn't notice at the game itself as I was too busy going bonkers myself but watching again, he was noticably less animated than usual. He didn't give his usual mouthfuls to the officials but I put this down to him wanting to look professional on the telebox. At the end, I thought he'd go more nuts but I think he was pretty stunned and overwhelmed. He looked close to tears at one point. I also thought he'd come out and do his usual clenched fist/crouched down thingy to the crowd but I think they all went inside pronto to listen to the draw.
  5. I posted this in a look-a-like thread a while back but Neil Patrick Harris (aka Barney Stinson from How I Met Your Mother) as Simmo.
  6. Its probably a legal nightmare with it being on ITV but if they could get this out, they could do some offers e.g. buy a ticket for Yeovil and get 25% off the DVD or bundle it with a Jose Baxter t shirt. I dunno, I'm not a marketing whizz but there must be some opportunities after yesterday. Would love to have Forest too of course. Free bacon butties though.
  7. That music is shocking! Great scenes at the end yesterday. Only downside was the players all rushed inside so we didn't get chance to give them a proper ovation.
  8. That's all well and good, but as an elected representative, he shouldn't need to see us beating Liverpool to recognise the good an even moderately successful football club can do for the town. Hope he comes back for some league games. Rather than voting by party, I'm going to start asking local candidates if they "get football".
  9. Has to be Smith for his goals and his dominating of the Liverpool centre backs. Baxter I thought had a (relatively) quiet game - he uncharacteristically gave the ball away 4 or 5 times and it shows the measure of respect that Liverpool gave him as they had 3 men on him giving him no time every time he got the ball. He was unlucky with a couple of cracking shots. The stage is set for him in the next round against his former club, be great if he could score against them. Simmo deserves a mention too - ran his socks off and caused a lot of problems himself. Have we found the position to get the best out of him this season (supporting Smith)? He needs to start bringing it in league games and not just important cup games!
  10. I'd imagine that privately, he's given PD a target of say 5 points from the next 3 games (or even 7 points) to keep his job. If we lose to Walsall, its not looking good for PD. If there is a press-backlash, it'd be a pretty poorly researched one. The run we're on is terrible by any standards.
  11. I've been thinking hard about this. Before yesterday, I thought it'd be best if we parted company. But how can we bloody sack him after that? Perhaps the best thing would be to do it on a game-by-game basis as suggested by others. Knowing our luck, SC will give him 3 more league games, we'll lose them all and then beat Everton!
  12. I hope the club can get it on sale, maybe as a bundle with the Forest game if that's possible. I'd pay money for that. If its in HD on Blu-Ray, even better! SC, Jenny, Broady - make it so!
  13. Give out vouchers for the next home games. Maybe do a deal on Yeovil and Mongs - buy a ticket for both for £30 and get a priority voucher for Everton.
  14. I'd moved to a "PD outer" a few games back. It would seem harsh to sack him after today - but do we risk the poor league run continuing? PD aside, if the player's played like that every week...
  15. I'm stunned, it really hasn't sunk in but my dad's just cracked open a bottle of champagne! I'm 26, saw Premier League games, the Wembley '94 game and the City and Everton shocks but I think today tops them all.
  16. Wow, I'd be shocked but great news if we can sign him.
  17. We should do something for the Everton game to encourage attendance at the next few home league games. Give out vouchers or similar.
  18. Plus the winnings from today, which wouldn't have been expected. That must be close to £100k?
  19. I love Matt Smith! All the neutrals texting me throughout the game commented on how good he was.
  20. I said it before the 3rd and 4th round draw but I still want Arsenal away.
  21. I'd like to think any Liverpool fans sat in home areas would be humble enough not to go crazy - its not like it will be an out-pouring of uncontrollable emotion for them if they score against L1 opposition.
  22. I voted backing Corney and therefore disagree with those who voted No but this view is bizarre. Any correlation between time of vote and opinion on SC is coincidence. Or are you suggesting that people who vote during the day are somehow irrational, less intelligent etc? I voted during the day at work (when I was clocked off I should add!).
  23. Absolutely. I hate to be on the side of overpaid Chelsea players but time-wasting is cheating. That ball boy should be banned from being pitch-side for a few games.
