United away is probably the biggest money spinner but I wouldn't mind Arsenal away. Trip down to the Emirates would be nice and the way they're playing, we'd probably beat them!
-
Our disciplinary record is worrying though we get hard done to by refs - Saturday was a good example of this. I think refs are looking to book our players because of PD's reputation.
-
Agree with that (with Sutherland in, not Millar) though PD should be ready to change it round if its not working out. Montano could be a great impact sub.

Well for me, the win comes first. I'd take a season of performances like yesterday if it meant us winning each time. I do know where you're coming from though - it was a poor performance yesterday and not very pretty to watch. I think a more important point is that when we do play good football over the full 90, we do tend to score more goals and win games. As others have said, play like we did yesterday against Donny and we'll probably get beaten. -

Jesus Christ, what do people want? I'll take a scrappy win like that over games like Scunthorpe or Notts County when we played better but got less. -
They should name and shame the agent. What kind of an idiot doesn't want his client getting game time? It'd be understandable if he had a better move lined up (which I suppose he may have).

Lets not forget Hartlepool has been a bit of a bogey place for us to visit (until last year at least) and how often do teams on a poor run come good against us? Result definitely the main thing tonight and 3 big points. And Carrie Underwood. -

Yea, the article saying "our season starts tomorrow" just takes you back to the home page when you try to click it. -
If PD resigned he'd get nothing. If you got made redundant you'd get statutory severance pay (at a minimum, you might get more depending on your employer). If you got sacked e.g. for negligence, gross misconduct, gross incompetence then you'd get nothing. How on earth do you prove that for a football manager though? I agree its bloody ridiculous that poorly performing managers get big pay-offs but I suspect its cheaper to do that than go through a legal process of appeal after appeal to prove to a tribunal that he was incompetent. I don't think tomorrow's a must-win for PD. Like others have said I think he'll get until the cup game. I've always been pro-PD and would wish him well if he was to go but I do think its now time to change. The ridiculous thing is, I would't be surprised if he did somehow turn it round and we went on a 10 game unbeaten run. I don't think it will happen but it wouldn't shock me - the team is good enough.

You can't blame PD for taking a defensive stance. I thought we were poor against Bury but "gutless tripe" was a bit over the top from Corney.

Great idea. I visited NZ last Christmas for a month, travelled round a bit and saw some of the sights (stunningly beautiful country) but I missed the Liverpool cup game! I remember being sat in McDonalds (Nelson I think - only place I could get wifi), 9am Saturday morning getting the text updates on BBC's website. I went mental when Simmo scored - lots of shouting "COME ON!!" and some other incomprehensible noises. Got a few funny looks from the hungover locals buying their breakfast! I never made it to Hamilton but would love to back there so its on my list of places to visit. I'm semi-seriously considering trying to get out there longer term but Latics is playing a bigger part in my decision making than it probably should. You'd think I'd be more bothered about being 11,000 miles away from my family but I've currently got that down as both a pro and a con!! Subscribing to Latics Player is an ok idea but staying up until 5am on Sunday morning to listen to a game might not be your idea of a good time!

7/12 which seems slightly better than average! I'm not sure the answers are correct. Answer to Q1 suggests the attacker is ruled offside because he gained an advantage from standing in an offside position. But you can do that so long as you weren't stood offside when the ball was played, surely?

corney goes on the attack- again.

I'd have a problem with Corney reading the riot act to the players. That's PD's job (who definitely should have done that on Wednesday morning). I don't have a problem with him being outspoken and he can certainly read the riot act to PD but if Corney starts getting directly involved in team management then its the thin end of the wedge, a slippery slope. How long before he starts picking the team? -

It worked last time so lets hope for the same on Saturday. The blame for that performance has to lie with the players. Surely PD is saying the same things before Bury as he said before Crewe, Preston, Sheff U. -
Maximo Park, I loved their first two albums but they went a bit crap after that.
-
Not the best draw but at least its at home. They won't relish coming to BP in the cup.

Baxter wants to stay

Isn't there the wage cap issue? We'd probably need (and be willing) to make him our highest paid player. But if we don't get any more bums on seats, even if we could afford to do it, we wouldn't be allowed to. -
More racism allegations

And groups representing LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender), black police officers and black and ethnic minorities generally (my previous employer had a BEM forum where non-white people could meet, network etc). But whilst some (even many) of these groups may be completely unnecessary, its not a valid comparison to suggest equivalent white groups. The point is, they do represent minorities who are, as history shows, more likely to be victimised, discriminated against, whatever. They exist to help said minorities operate on an equal footing to the rest of us. If they're able to do that then more power to them. There's clearly a fine line between this and encouragement of positive discrimination, which I'm firmly against. As for the MOBOs, they're completely pointless as all decent music descends from Robert Johnson anyway - as everyone already knows. -
Looks like studs up and a dangerous tackle to me. And big Jean deserved to go but Alexander pushed him first so should have had a card. Stupid from Jean though.
-
Just seen the highlights. I think he might have got away with a yellow for the first raised hand as he wasn't really watching and just kinda waved him off but he had to go for the push on Alexander - though what a prick for diving like that. Is that a 3 match ban for big Jean? If we can keep Tarky fit, we should be ok - if anything Jean's looked a bit shaky at times in the last few games. Great move for the Baxter goal. Their goal looked a bit soft to me.

Interesting that we're maximising the gap between league games by not playing him vs Kidderminster to make full use of the 93 days. Surprised that's allowable though its good news (and no doubt Forrest don't want him cup tied). -
Official site says he's a doubt but named in the squad and a decision will be made on his fitness tomorrow. I wouldn't mind seeing Simmo and Baxter up front together but Smith probably deserves the start. Unfortunately when Smith plays we seem to resort to one dimensional long ball.

Well that went well

Haha, thanks. If only his one which hit the post had gone in, we might have had a game on our hands.
