genseric, what's his injury? will he stay? is a fully fit genseric worth keeping?

i quite liked his cameo of appearances, shame he got injured but was on the pitch after the game yesterday... surely if he was off elsewhere he wouldn't of cared too much about going on the pitch and he doesn't seem to be in any sort of group with the players, bit of a lone soldier!

He's got recurrent hamstring problems, and was definitely limping during our lap of honour. Some of his injury problems will be related to his natural physiology, some will be related to his "fitness and training" issues, which may be fixable with some personalised programmes, and some is just sheer bad luck.

He may be a bit like Youseff from last season, who was very quiet apparently and rather than going out with the lads (especially as Youseff won't drink, and Kusunga might not either) he preferred to be at home with his family.

think he will be staying - LJ has said previously in an interview that we have sent him to Milan to see a specialist about his injuries - you don't waste time doing that if you aren't going to use it to your benefit and keep him/get him properly fit; if you were releasing him you do that and nothing else

Really hope he does and can get himself fit with a proper pre-season - has pace, strength and power - with Lockwood and Wilson that's 3 good CB's for this level

I thought it was Lanzoni who saw the Italian specialist.

LJ is determined to do his best to get Kusunga fit and take the risk on keeping him. Instead of going to Milan, he's seeing a specialist over here. Lack of his medical records is proving Basel faulty.

Forgotten Anton Rodgers' future not yet decided.

Interesting. If he's going to play 35 games then he's first choice in a position surely?

Well if he's first choice the player directly behind him is guaranteed atleast 14 games.

Think if we keep him LJ might rotate him so he doesn't play 2 games a week. That's assuming he's first choice.

Not interested in any player who is around the first team set up who cant or is inable to play 2 x 90 minutes in one week regardless of ability. Its no good for the team, its not just match days its the time spent managing recovery programs and treatment/physio, personally prefer solid pros without issues with niggles.

What rights to Basel have to his medical records?

He isn't their player anymore.

We didnt pay them a bean for his services, so its not like releasing them may give us some sort of advantage in claiming anything from them due to his injuries?

Sounds and feels 'dodgey' this does. Like they're covering something up - not injury wise; maybe registration wise or the like?

Surely they dont have a leg to stand on with this (pardon the pun) and legally should have to hand over his records to us? Don't they?

All smells a bit rotten this. All the reasons I can think of as to why Basle want to keep his medical records, despite them not being theirs to keep, even if he was still playing for them, are dodgy.

Didn't Chelsea sign that winger from Basle in January? Would like to think they got his records promptly, so why not us.

You'd have got rid of Ritchie, Bunn, etc etc then? Lots of players get recurring injuries and wouldn't be able to meet your criteria.

He is no Andy Ritchie or Bunn, find it strange the manager publicly criticizing him, going as far as publicly questioning his commitment and desire and his ability to play through the pain barrier and then offering him new terms, no doubt has ability but players who need baby sitting are not for me, its a good point but times have changed and our first team squad will be at least double the size now than it was then.

So what are you saying ? You first said that ability isn't a factor -

"Not interested in any player who is around the first team set up who cant or is inable to play 2 x 90 minutes in one week regardless of ability".

but now draw a distinction with the likes of Bunn & Ritchie. Make your mind up.

Of course every club wants players who can play every match but lifes not like that. And what's your attitude to players who are wheeled out for matches but don't train ? We had one in John Sheridan.
