Couldnt agree more.

I dont do recreational drugs but I dont agree with (a lot of aspects of) the law regarding it's use, and dont disagree with some people who choose not to accept that law.

Like many criminal laws it's outdated - it isn't that long ago that homosexuality was illegal (and a diagnoseable mental health condition) - fortunately laws do change.

If footballers or anyone else want to do some e's on holiday in Ibiza then good for them - we only live once - enjoy it.

Once they suss out how to tax them it'll all change

Indeed their was an article in the economist about the global narcotics trade which is worth $300 billion half of which is the dealing of canabis legalise this and not only does the tax payer benefit from the tax revenue but it will hit organised crime in the pocket. The same way the abolition of prohibition in America hit the mafia.

Seriously, i haven't taken drugs and believed they should remain illegal. However, while the law is clear, the underlying hypocrisy remains. Alcohol is incredibly destructive, in every sense. The just destructive drug in our society. But we accept it. Gambling is booming, but it creates untold misery. We don't judge a heavy drinker, and wouldn't ban him, because it's legal. But we would throw the book at someone who takes a recreational drug because it is illegal.

Personally, if it doesn't impact on someone else (like rape, murder, child sex etc), don't judge. All this holier than thou :censored: is sanctimonious bollocks.

If, however, he has attacked someone, then he can :censored: off.

plus both alcohol and gambling pay massive texes to the govt so they aint gonna kill that cow are they

Son Chris (Hallamblue) works in structural monitoring, engineering. He's responsible for website, 3d visuals for clients and engineers, 3D designs and printing, 3D prototypes for safety devices with fire service and like, problem solving for engineers on site. Railways, Bridges, Tunnels all over UK, Ireland, US, Spain, Singapore. RARE he's away from office onto trackside/site etc but just in case needed is tested for drink and drugs randomly if above trace for drink and ANY drugs he would be out the door with no warning. Purely on safety and reputations. Why a professional footballer even thinks it's acceptable is beyond me when fitness is king in modern game.

The lads stupid as Palmer says not a first or second offence where suspicion has fallen his way. He's either very thick or a liar. Not a good combo. Waste of ability and life.

I've known a couple of people who worked for US owned banks who had to be randomly drug tested to please the God Bothering owners. The word was always put around so everyone knew to lay off the bongo powder for a few days.

Coke and Ecstasy are both, in theory, performance enhancing- they are both stimulant based.

As anyone who has taken Ecstasy will tell you, you'd have to get the dose spot on for it to be performance enhancing, and it would have to be very pure MDMA. Coke doesn't have to be pure, but it will only work for a very short period of time. Whilst probably not as big of an issue in football, in more contact sports Coke is a serious performance enhancer as it is an analgesic which reduces bleeding, (it is possibly the only one about), this is why people having medical procedures to heavily vascular areas can sometimes be given Coke as an analgesic.

On a drug testing basis, Ecstasy will remain in your system for quite a long period, Coke on the other hand is out of your system very quickly. If it has been recreational use, then Baxter will have had to have been doing Coke within 48 hours at most to get caught, any sportsman caught with Coke in their system is quite likely to have a problem. See the Bath Rugby team from a few years ago.

Whatever the rights and wrongs of banning players for non-performance enhancing drugs, he knows he shouldn't be doing it. He know he will be tested. And he knows he was very lucky to basically get away with it last time.

He's an idiot. Simple as really.

He's got the best job in the world, but its a very short career. He can put whatever he wants up his nose when he is 35 and retired. Just wait until then.

How does he know what the quality will be like when he's 35?

And I bet there are better jobs in the world
