Dave_Og Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Is that now 7 goals by mid-November? That's close to being on course for 20 a season! Not bad for an allegedly much overrated player who's played all over the pitch
HarryBosch Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Credit where it's due - he's by far our most reliable goalscorer.
NewBlue Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Has anybody ever scored more cup goals for Latics than league goals (with a decent number of goals under their belt)? From what I can gather, that's 11 league goals for us and 12 cup goals. Cup goal specialist paying the bills. Knows where the net is...

Maybe we should tell him it's called the Football League One Cup...? Too negative?

Robbie Simpson was good at this In 89-90 Ritchie scored 28 in total only 15 were in the league 10 came in the league cup run. Edited November 17, 2015 by GlossopLatic
philliggi Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Chris Hall could only ever score in the cup. Not even sure he ever scored a league goal
ChrisA Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Chris Hall could only ever score in the cup. Not even sure he ever scored a league goal Tranmere last minute at home for a 1-0 win.

oldhamoafc Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Stepped up to the plate in terms of goal scoring but still costs us in possession. Slows us down and too lightweight.

dazlatic Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Stepped up his game recently If the manager won't manage/ motivate him with tough love, the fans will??
HarryBosch Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 (edited) Everybody hates someone don't they Harry who says 'I told you so'You havent told us anything. When you said he was doing well he wasn't Now he is. Which is great. He can still be poor in other parts of his game but i couldnt care less if he keeps scoring so regularly. Also, we sang his name last night - when was the last time we sang a players name? Edited November 18, 2015 by HarryBosch
oafcmetty Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Also, we sang his name last night - when was the last time we sang a players name? Poleon most weeks.
BP1960 Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 I thought that he played crap tonight but scored 1 and helped make the other, so hey ho. He improved when Rasulo came on, he seemed to appreciate the link play with him. I think we may have stumbled on a winning formula with Phiiliskirk, Poleon and Rasulo in unison.
astottie Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Reminiscent of how he linked up with Daniel Johnson a couple of times last year.
ChaddySmoker Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Reminiscent of how he linked up with Daniel Johnson a couple of times last year. Exactly my thoughts. Better when playing with more intelligent forward thinking players.

Agreed, Philliskirk prefers quick sharp exchanges and Rasulo (as Johnson did) can provide that, Poleon fits in well too with them with combined movement that can unlock defences.

BP1960 Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 (edited) where does Higdon fit into this????? He doesn't, but that's only my opinion. Rasulo plays so advanced he's almost like a second striker. Edited November 18, 2015 by BP1960
