This has been tried so many times before.

Even on an official level with the club when we got andy Williams I love you baby.

It'll never catch on. These things are complete spare of the moment never planned

In fairness there's absolutely no way You'll Never Walk Alone, On The Ball City, Forever Blowing Bubbles, Grand Old Team, Greasy Chip Butty, Marching on Together, No Nae Never, Play Up Sky Blues etc. were spur of the moment....

I mentioned this to a mate of mine who watches Latics with me and I said they should blast this tune out on match days, however he thought I was talking out of my arse and they never played it.

It was one of the reasons I returned to BP after my first ever game in the halcyon days when Craig Dudley and Mark Allott were up front. I remember Lomana Tresor Lua Lua tearing us apart for Colchester in either my 2nd or 3rd game.

Ok, so to This how it feels by Inspiral Carpets;

Cor-ney don't know what he's done

Baz don't know what's wrong with us

He can't say, they can't see,

Putting it down to another bad day,

So this is how it feels to be Oldham,

This is how it feels to be small,

This is how it feels when our Shez comes home for us all.

OK, next effort. Would work well with the drum and would sound great at Burton on the telly...

To the tune of Swords of a thousand men:

Home verse:

Deep in the castle of Boundary Park,

Listen to the sound of the Yard dogs bark.

Sounds of the roar of the crowd outside,

Oldham supporters from far and wide.

Hear our shouts, hear our roar,

We are Athletic and we will score much much more

Win at home and win away

John Sheridan and his team of eleven men

Away verse:

We had to meet the enemy miles away,

Quaking in their boots and their faces turned grey.

Assembling the lads with skills so sharp,

Shez put hope in our Oldham hearts.

Hear our roar, hear our sound,

Were gonna fight until we have beat this town.

Win at home and win away,

John Sheridan and his team of eleven men.

Final verse:

When the scores come along at the end of the day,

Another win for Oldham and we're Champions again.

Hear our triumph, hear our roar,

We are Athletic and we will score much much more

Win at home and win away,

John Sheridan and his team of eleven men.

It will keep my brother happy and get him back to BP. He loved that song!

Now to Wunderbar and three bells in a row!

Off the bar, off the bar. off the bar, off the bar

The Hollies - Air that I breathe

Woof.

It works as a stand alone song if just singing the chorus.

But also, I've thought long and hard about the lyrics and I think I've come up with an Oldham version. Took a while, hopefully it's not so complicated it puts people off. As doggy suggested, to the tune of Air that I breathe by the hollies...

Sometimes, all I need is the air that I breathe

And the Oldham

All I need is the air that I breathe

Yes The Oldham

All I need is the air that I breathe

How many times have people on here dedicated what songs to sing???

The truth is nobody has the bottle to try singing any of them so it's a waste of time.

I beg to differ. I usually have lots of bottles before I sing swords of a thousand men most Friday nights after and during games of disjointed ping pong as we affectionately call it

Unless you have a drum and a prepubescent army behind you...
