I heard from a reasonable source that, as with all other things at Latics, cost-cutting measures came in. A certain director was named as having to approve any spend by the groundsman. Even down to the odd bag of fertiliser. As with anything else - if you don't invest then the quality deteriorates.

 

Better not grass on him. :)

Why would you spend money on players & pitch at a football club?

GAME OFF! The referee has inspected the pitch & called the game off. Waterlogged pitch.

 

The incompetence of those running this club is unbelievable, it was well known the weather was going to get worse yet there was no communication on the official website whatsoever, they let fans travel thinking the game had a chance when it hadn't a hope.
