NewBlue
Ladapo officially gone Target man required. If it's Holloway we've upgraded.
PlayItLivo
Holloway is a handful to play against sure. I don't think he's the goalscorer we're crying out for and we were arguably more of a threat when he was injured and Main and Forte had the run of the park, up front. NewBlue
Holloway is a handful to play against sure. I don't think he's the goalscorer we're crying out for and we were arguably more of a threat when he was injured and Main and Forte had the run of the park, up front. Robinson probably still believes McKay to be that goalscorer, rightly or wrongly, and will try to procure players who will get goals out of him. The likelihood of us finding a goalscorer in January is so slim - let's be honest, we never drafted one in last season. Main scored 4 in 16. Perhaps sticking with Osei/McKay is what Robinson intends to do and build around them with a left mid and a ball-playing centre mid. A few Pompey fans seem to think Main's going out on loan this month too. If Corney has a say on transfers I wouldn't at all be surprised to see him back... NewBlue
Reading the Chron it sounds like Burgess is off too. Don't know how I feel about that. Clearly never gonna be a Tarky but he did a job. I'd have kept him on. Edmundson to step up? Given that Brian Wilson was in talks with Cheltenham last week surely he's not first choice in Robbo's plans.

Looked like Burgess was improving under the 3 centre back system, not the finished product by any means, but it will be interesting to see how he develops. oafc1955
Well he was in the North Stand yesterday with Barry Owen so a deal is probably in the offing.
NewBlue
Big Anthony has to fit in somewhere. Never thought about him. Gerrard is obviously an improvement on Burgess. Bit slow a back three of Wilson, Clarke and Gerrard though.
Lee Sinnott
Not sure a back three featuring both Clarke and Gerrard would work. One of them would be playing as the left side of the 3 and would constantly be being dragged out of the centre...

leeslover
Clarke seems to enjoy playing in the wide areas. Possibly just highlights that he's about our most accomplished player in ever position

NewBlue
Coventry, Shrewsbury and Bury all brought in players so far. We need to be rid of this embargo to keep up...
Twisbrogan
We need to be rid of this embargo to keep up... Robinson still in the dark as to when that will be. Although it sounds like he'd prefer to keep Burgess around, he's had to go back to Fulham so we're now hoping that Dunne is fit for next week. cmr
Embargo lifted, Holloway to be signed according to my source at the club.. Whats your source say bout us trying to get Craig Davies?
manshaw
If Craig Davies and Holloway is correct, then SC looks like he has had to get his cheque book out AGAIN. I don't get why he has to wait for the inevitable instead of doing it at the beginning of the season. We have lost valuable support, not only from true supporters, but stay aways as well. I thought he was a business man, and should therefore know you have to speculate to accumulate.
yarddog73
He wouldn't serve up smart price food from Asda in the OEC restaurant so why does he think paying customers would be enamoured with smart price players? It's as short sighted as you can get to neglect the one thing that can strengthen the brand.

OAFCinWolves
It's false economy then. I agree like Harry Bosh said approx 10million lost in lost crowd receipts over his tenure had there been something to shout about. Possibly more had we had a couple of championship.
