4froale
the money we saved from sacking dickov could be put towards his salary
Lukers1
I would have thought if we contacted him its only a matte of time..... I expect the announcement later today.
Killens_physio
Would be the best choice for the club at the moment. Say what you like about the cloudy circumstances that he left under, but if he can galvanise this team to anywhere near the level he did during the play off season and the post M**re era, we should get ourselves out of this :censored: we find ourselves in! Come Davros..........say yes!
oafc1955
No matter who we appoint it is always a gamble...he worked a miracle at Palace taking them from bottom to top in no time but was also given the task of keeping Hull up with a million pound bonus if successful and failed. There are no guarantees in football but Dowie would be my choice initially to the end of the season.
NewBlue
I was only a kid when Dowie was in charge so have very little recollection of his stint in charge which makes me unknowledgeable about him. If you was to look at his record elsewhere in football; Charlton, Palace and Coventry would you still want him appointed? I know he did a good job in charge of us when he was manager, led us to the play-offs and instilled discipline, like he does everywhere but it was with a good budget. Would he fare the same with a lower budget like we have? Our players are certainly good enough to stay in this league, if not challenge higher up when we compare clubs like Yeovil in the play-offs with their selection of players to ours it seems almost even. The calibre is right but the tactics and motivation aren't. Would Dowie provide that?
pistonbroke
Sounds like the one the Fans want. Go get him Si.

Wardie
I can see this happening, with Dowie coming in, provisionally to the season's end and then with the option of further discussions, pending the situation at the time. Whether or not this would be the ideal appointment, I have no clue.

Stevie_J
If I was Mr Corney I'd give him a go until the end of the season and take it from there I'd offer him an eighteen month contract with the option for the club to bin him at the end of the season in the event that we're relegated. laticdickovarmy
Would Dowie back also increase the gate if only a little I wonder? I reckon it would for a while which in turns helps justify his wage

scan
I seem to recall that Dowie walked away from Oldham when it suited him - Is that the level of commitment that we want from our new manager?
Hornbloweroafc
as long as he brings his back staff again especially the fitness guy, Harbin? Edited February 4, 2013 by Hornbloweroafc
opinions4u
I seem to recall that Dowie walked away from Oldham when it suited him - Is that the level of commitment that we want from our new manager? As every promise that had been made to him (and the fans) had been broken, it's hard to hold that against him.
