Corney "is in New York on business until next week so hasn’t begun interviewing yet."

"Chairman Simon Corney is yet to appoint Dickov’s successor and although former boss Iain Dowie and new favourite Sammy Lee have both been strongly linked with a return to Boundary Park, Corney told M.E.N. Sport that he has not yet offered the job to anyone. He is in New York on business until next week so hasn’t begun interviewing yet."

lo and behold, matt chambers

According to Matt Chambers Dowie has an offer on the table which he is considering. Sammy Lee is not on the radar and no other interviews are planned at this stage

Bookies mean :censored: all - sure, Lee may well have applied which someone has then got wind of, bet on it and zooop up to the top of the 50 or so bets already-placed market it goes, utter :censored:e

lets see what happens but if nothing is agreed then thats life and we get who we get.

I reckon Dowie has already agreed a deal........for Simon to go to the US at such an important time and, (according to Matt Chambers) for interviews of other possible candidates to have not even been arranged I reckon Dowie is nailed on!!!

Perhaps for Dickov's sake ( he and Corney had become close friends ) they are making it look like the deal hadn't been pre-arranged!
