AnthonyOAFC Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 Anyone heard anything yet about the injury? Here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fbQTYFeOa98 Quote
blueatheart Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 I'm worried, four to six weeks minimum if it's fractured Quote
pdw76 Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 Big Liverpool fan too, hope he's okay. Did he not miss Anfield last time? Quote
Wardie Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 It looks horrendous, the Mansfield player' feet both left the ground and he appears to lead with arm up.Hopefully it is not as bad as we fear, he may even have to play with a protective mask or something and it makes the extension of Petrasso's loan even more vital. I also think that Winchester had a good game tonight and is able to step into that midfield role. Quote
Stevie_J Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 Looked like a fracture when he was heading off not the ambulance. Quote
gavinodriscoll Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 he looked an absolute mess going to that ambulance Quote
underdog Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 Shocking that...leading with his arm first....hope he recovers quick Quote
LaticsPete Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 I have no sympathy at all for Mansfield They set out to clog and were abetted by the ref. They now have their star man injured and one suspended. Karma Quote
Slash Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 Looked a clash of heads from my angle on the TV. Unfortunate, but no intent. Quote
opinions4u Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 Looked a clash of heads from my angle on the TV. Unfortunate, but no intent. Endangering the safety of an opponent is a red card offence. Intent doesn't come into it. Quote
blueatheart Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 Looked a clash of heads from my angle on the TV. Unfortunate, but no intent. As BT "attempting something new" Sport reported, Mark Halsey text in and said it was a red for using unnecessary force. Quote
laticsmarra Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 They were a very poor team it is a shame that we had to play them again and subject ourselves to their strong arm tactics. Justice in the end the cream rose to the top. Quote
disjointed Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 It wasn't the best of challenges, but to be fair I think it was his head that caught Wes and not the arm, even though his arm was raised. Quote
Slash Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 Personal opinion if in a game I received or gave that challenge I would not expect to receive nor give away a free kick. Two players wanting the ball and the type of player Wes is I reckon he'd agree. Quote
deyres42 Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 They were a very poor team it is a shame that we had to play them again and subject ourselves to their strong arm tactics. Justice in the end the cream rose to the top. Wouldn't go that far but we were worthy winners in the end. Quote
b0ndl1ne Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 Almost like it was written in the stars though for it to happen and Rodgers be selected for Anfield Quote
sydneyblue Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 It wasn't the best of challenges, but to be fair I think it was his head that caught Wes and not the arm, even though his arm was raised. Still think it's a red if he's hit him with the head - no chance of getting there at all. Dangerous play as borne out by the injury Quote
opinions4u Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 Almost like it was written in the stars though for it to happen and Rodgers be selected for Anfield Although Carl Winchester has staked a massive claim to start games in Wesolowski's absence. Quote
disjointed Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 Although Carl Winchester has staked a massive claim to start games in Wesolowski's absence. Have to agree.I thought "Chris" had a great game Quote
pinevillawill Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 Wes was under the ball, their lad was attacking the ball. It wasn't an unfortunate 50/50 challenge. Quote
rudemedic Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 To my eye that looked like he had fractured his cheekbone, especially after the close up when he was subbed and then the pictures after that of him leaving the ground to go via Ambulance to the hospital. Hopefully he hasn't, but it does not look good. Quote
Frankly Mr Shankly Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 His boat race looked like a marshmallow after that. Mansfield were third-rate cloggers and I always felt they'll be blowing out of their arse before long. A classic case of class outshining pure thuggery. :censored: them, :censored: their horrible chairman and :censored: their orange knocked-up chairman's :censored:ing wife. One of the most satisfying images of the night was Mansfield's dressing-room cam with them all sobbing into their shirts. Quote
greengrass Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 Have to agree.I thought "Chris" had a great game I laughed at that too Quote
