Latics_Fanatic Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Lee johnson @LDJhepingping15s Just managed to sneak in @jonstead9 before the window shuts ( emergency loan) ... Goes straight into the squad for Swindon @OfficialOAFC Quote
blueatheart Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 here for a month I'm going to make a big deal out of putting INITIALLY on the end of this. His chances at 'Udders have been very limited. He may go the whole three months and if successful, sign next season. Quote

SavageTheBeast Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Turned down cov and Walsall http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sport/football/football-news/huddersfield-town-striker-jon-stead-6646816 Quote

Not the most prolific, but i'll take that - can Tarky come back on loan with that or do we 5 in on loan now? Quote

astottie Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 He's been signed 5 minutes and nobody's complained he's a mate of Johnson's. Are things looking up or are most people out ? Quote
Crusoe Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Don't worry. Someone's already complained on the other thread about signing past-it strikers. Quote
Laticfanatic1 Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 This is a cracking signing, happy with this. Quote
SavageTheBeast Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 He's 30 hitting a strikers prime Quote
Ross2509 Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 I agree that its a decent signing but i have this inkling in my mind that he is the new player that the boo - boys will latch on to, "journeyman" or "carthorse" probably being used. Quote
HarryBosch Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 I can see him having a similar impact to Kuqi Quote
simplythemostimportantkick Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 I'm happy with this I think he will score some goals given the fact we can make chances, can't be any less composed than we've seen lately. I was hoping Matt Derbyshire but this will do nicely, will it be extended ? Quote
mikeroyboy Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 He's been signed 5 minutes and nobody's complained he's a mate of Johnson's. Are things looking up or are most people out ? I believe there is a crowd on top of the Civic, queuing to jump. That could be the reason. Quote
Frankly Mr Shankly Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Isn't Stead a target man rather than a fox in a box striker? We've struggled to hold the ball up the pitch all season (hence the lack of goals overall) so I see this as a decent signing. Think he'll worth well both both JCH or Charlie McDonald. Quote
LaticMark Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Turned down cov and Walsall http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/,sport/football/football-news/huddersfield-town-striker-jon-stead-6646816 According to Wikipedia: "On 8 May 2013, Stead was released by (Bristol) City, in hopes of making a move up north to involve his kids spending time with their grandparents." If true, he's still close to his home town of Huddersfield. He once cost over £1m don't you know! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jon_Stead Quote
Diego_Sideburns Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Jon Stead goals: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPhbooBisJE Quote
BP1960 Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 I notice like the other striker signed from Stockport Stead scores goals with either foot, a big advantage IMO. Quote
yarddog73 Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 can score em with his arse for me either butt cheek will do Quote

oafc1955 Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 It was rumoured a week ago on the rumours site.....at 6'3" he is just the sort we need. He holds it up and can score too...very happy with that, just a shame it's only for a month. Turned down 2 midlands clubs so probably wants to stay local. Gives us a chance to have a proper look at him and maybe a chance for a permanent deal for next season. Quote
RoytonLatics Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 He ain't bad, he ain't a goal scorer, but he's a holding player an may bring others into the game. Teach JCH a thing or 2 aswell Quote
midnite315 Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Wanted to stay close to Huddersfield as extending his family, didn't want to travel to Walsall or Coventry............. Hopefully for longer than a month Quote
