bozman
I was in Kristian Dennis's Dad's taxi last week. He said a deal is complicated by the loan as it doesn't have a break clause, but it's likely he'll be sold in January with Stockport sharing the fee with Macclesfield. He said there is plenty of interest from several league 1 and 2 clubs but we are not one of them.
China
If you're not one of them you should be, he really is that good and he could be the difference between staying up and going down.
bozman
I agree that we should be interested China. Our lack of interest is not a judgment on the player's ability, but due to the fact that a transfer fee is required and we're skint.
China
I sometimes wonder if there's any future for lower level football in this area with United and City getting bigger and bigger, With the ease of getting into Manchester through improved transport systems and City expanding their ground it's understandable that football fans of the future will choose trophies, titles and world class players over endless misery and disappointment, maybe we're all fighting a losing battle and we're just a bit further down the road to oblivion than most. On that cheerful note I wish you all a much better 2016.

Kids see it as appropriate to support both City and their town side these days, such is the gulf in expectations between the clubs in Greater Manchester/Lancashire. Hence the size of local away followings but a shrivelled hard-core. I swear I heard the other day that lad who used to drum with the singing section is now a City fan. Only through making lower league football a genuine counter-movement to the riches of Premier League and commercialised football can I see it being mildly successful. Currently it's just a microcosm of Premier League football corporatism.

He was found wanting and proved to be all mouth. Not a genuine fan.

He's plying his trade as a League 2 centre forward/part-time ticket tout isn't he?

On that cheerful note I wish you all a much better 2016. I was at work today (up in Scotland) and a bloke asked me where I was from and who I supported. When I told him Latics he shook my hand and said well done, then started talking about how much he enjoyed Latics in the early 90s beating all before them. There will always be a future for lower league football, as much misery and disappointment we all feel, the bigger teams and their new 'fans' will never understand the feeling of a last minute winner or the like. It will get better in time, it just depends how long it takes to hit the bottom before we start rising again!

HarryBosch
County get a bigger following now than they ever did in the 1980s. Lower league football continues to have a future. Exactly. And we've had similarly :censored: crowds to this at some point in pretty much every decade. Sometimes in the league above.

Magister
Umm...if those were job interview answers from Gerrard, I would be saying "next" ......the only mistake he did not make was to ask about holidays and sick leave. Clearly one of life's mercanaries

While I suppose he's an option, I don't recall him impressing when here on loan.

Clearly one of life's mercanaries Not sure I really care at present if he's a mercenary or not. He fits the bill for what we need for the rest of the season. There aren't many experienced centre-backs who have captained sides at higher levels which are even remotely available to us.

Clearly one of life's mercanaries As long as he turns up on a Saturday afternoon and does his job. We need a good experienced centre-half, few appear available. While I suppose he's an option, I don't recall him impressing when here on loan. Some fans are obsessed with Gerrard. He's not that good. In terms of experienced CB he's the best we could probably get. Since joining Shrewsbury (League games only) Shrewsbury have only lost 3 times (two of them being to Wigan and Walsall) conceding 12 goals in 9 games playing against the in-form teams like Gillingham and P'boro and beating Sheff Utd aswell. In their previous 14 league games without him, they conceded 19 goals losing 9 games losing to the likes of Crewe, Blackpool etc...

Magister
Don't most players end up with the highest payer they can find? Yes but not many are happy to not play until somebody pays them £x or after 18 months not having a club say it is all about sums and that money can usually be found if you are wanted badly enough....as he has not got a club I can only assume.... the_mighty_bosh
Some fans are obsessed with Gerrard. He's not that good. To be fair he apparently had a couple of poor games for us, the game I saw him play against Bristol City he and Lockwood managed to get the better of Wilbraham and Agard for most of the game, which was no mean feat with their form last season. Gerrard was very vocal and was dominant in the air. He lacks pace and his passing isn't great, but those are secondary concerns for defenders in relegation battling teams.
