LaticsPete
Whoever is appointed I'm sure there'll be a "final straw/never going again/ returning my ST" outburst.

matty_b_OAFC
Dickov with ODriscoll as DoF now being mentioned by that Alan Nixon fella on Twitter who always seems to be in the know. Surely we wouldn't go back there...would we?
deyres42
Wouldn't it be better the other way around?
opinions4u
Wouldn't it be better the other way around? Dickov in charge of player recruitment. He was quite good at that. SOD in charge of getting them to play.
dec666
As bad as the likes of Adams and Bunn would have been, the element of unknown with them would have kept me interested. Dickov's return doesn't even have the faintest hope of being a good idea.

oafc2002
I'd be relatively happy with S O'D and Dickov. Reckon they could get a team together and if we can keep Shirtliff to organise the defence, even better.
OAFCinWolves
And we did get quite a bit of sky coverage when had dickov. With SoD I wouldn't be jumping for joy but wouldn't be sad ....just need to get things settled and moving before 2 late
palmer1
Dickov? Dickov? Doesn't ring a bell....oh wait? Dickov! The little Scottish fella we SACKED because he lost his bottle played :censored: football which saw us going on a big losing streak as we headed towards relegation! He certainly proved at Doncaster where he was SACKED that all he needs is an old head to help him along like say...Brian Horton. What could go wrong? The minute you bring anybody back to this club 75% of our fan base immediately forget how the did previously and get sentimental. Funny considering they boo everyone who returns with someone else. Scott Vernon is out of contract, anybody think he could do a job? Edited June 26, 2016 by palmer1
NewBlue
Dickov has just joined Twitter, so wouldn't read too much into people following him. Why would we go back to someone who hasn't proved anything since he failed at Latics? Even worse, he was better in recruitment than coaching and tactics, which would make you think he'd suit a DoF role - never been so bored watching us than some of his sides, and Doncaster fans said the same. Cannot understand the logic.

adamoafc
Think what dickov failed with at Oldham was having an experienced head with him. His signings were good barring a few. Would like to think IF he came back SOD would be a very good influence on him
SavageTheBeast
I don't want it to be dickov the football under him was utter shambolic and would have sent us down if he would have stayed. Fans love him because he's a nice guy who speaks well in the media. One positive about dickov his recruitment was pretty decent.

Blue_Guru
Wouldn't be surprised ifCorney has a tracker of how much I income each manager we have had has brought in during his tenure...Dickov is probably up there to be fair with Cup runs and player sales... LaticMark
Paul Dickov and O'Driscoll is the latest... Which one would pick the team?
mickjagger
We didn't know what division we were playing in so couldn't make firm offers. Manager decided released and retained and offered contracts. Manager left. Contracts not yet accepted (awaiting appointment). Not really hard to answer. Really not hard to answer so you think this has only occured for the last six months? Be intresting to know in the last three years 1 How many players we have bought? 2 How many players we have sold? 3 How many loan players & what % of the team they have made up? That would give us a clearer indication of what startegy the club are choosing?
NewBlue
Experienced wouldn't say successful though. Really? Brian Flynn didn't do too badly at Wrexham. 10+ years in the job suggests some sort of success. I'd rather have a Bunn or an Adams. Dickov is a proven poor manager, including when working with a DoF. Lee Sinnott
Heard this on Friday and could have cried when I got told. He's a nice guy but, as mentioned before, the football was absolutely wank, apart from a period between Aug and Dec 2010. Philliskirk was offered the job as soon as the Evans move broke down, but he refused it. If I was a cynic, I would suggest that Corney wanted Philliskirk to do it and then disband our youth setup...
