Back training with Preston today and being touted about according to NIXON!

"Alan Nixon‏ @reluctantnicko Preston. Eoin Doyle fit enough to train. Good news. A few been alerted about that too."

A bit ambiguous about who's doing the 'alerting'!

MM on GMR on Friday saying we are signing him will not have helped before he has signed on the dotted line.

In fairness to him he was a bit stuffed by RW and AL saying at the press conference that he was coming back. MM had to be seen to be singing off the same hymn sheet.

RW also said it too, and I'm sure AL did  as well.

Hope it was not just based on a verbal agreement. rookie error by all 3 if so.

One minute we're signing and not announcing it for weeks, the next a little prematurely!

‘On the piss’ may have been an irresponsible turn of phrase on my part and I wish to downgrade it to ‘in a pub.’

Why ruin a good OWTB rumour? People in the stands will be killing him at end of season when he hasnt scored again.

"I heard he likes a drink, must be that"

Would not sign him if he is showing this lack of professionalism.

Absolutely. Why would we want to sign someone who scores nearly a goal a game and pulls the opposition defence all over the place with great movement, given we've now heard a rumour that he may have once gone to the pub? Very unprofessional, that's not what we need right now.

You'd have found nearly all of our 1990/91 championship winning side in the pub every week.....

Doyle was on the piss in libpool last night and said he was signing for us.

Either he was in a pub in libpool [Liverpool?] having a lemonade and gave a slight nod and a cheeky wink, when asked if he was signing for Latics.
Or he actually was pissed-up and said he was going to be singing for us.
