l'm proper concerned.

Sacking a manager who was making progress and temporarily appointing his polar opposite but not backing him to be even here next year seems like the epitome of a chapter called seemingly impossible relegation story in the Latics digital only picturebook of slowly (slowly) inexible gloomy sinkingness

It sounds like KC wanted it that way because of what he's heard about our owner (from PTB's meeting with Karl). Any interference and he will be off at the end of the season.

Kind of indifferent about Diarra and Jameson.  Could do better, could do worse, but at least there's some form of continuity I guess.

Bahamboula signing is obviously very good for the club, whether he's here or not next season.  Hopefully if both him and Curle are still here then he isn't used as a target man often.

How many have we got signed up for next year so far?

Before a ball is kicked, target for next season is promotion, any route, automatic would be lovely.

Disregard any lame statements from the club to say this was even remotely likely this season.

Through a remarkable and in my opinion improbable twist of fate, we find ourselves with a bonafide pedigree manager, proven at 4th division standard (never doubted Northampton would go up, ugly but effective).

What an opportunity.

The neysayers have already spoken, "it wont last, will be gone in less than 31 days" blah blah blah, good chance they are correct.

IF the owner is willing and able to back KC with adequate funds, it strikes me we have a very realistic chance of escaping this L2 nightmare next season.

Player retention, only a handful merit a new contract, some of which are expected to have better offers, this is clearly a big problem.

Some say Conor Mac 'only scores goals', try to keep him, scoring goals is the way out, keep big Dylan somehow, make the 3-5-2 work, not bothered if we need to start again in L1.

Whilst we are a way short on quality needed, I though at first that seems to be the strongest we've gone into a new season for some time (that's not a ringing endorsement though, shows how shockng it's been) but there are only 3 or 4 (if you count Dearnley) first teamers signed up. Bit of  shambles.

Starts

First teamers 2/3rd games (except Adams obvs)

Piergianni 23
Bahamboula 21

Adams 10*

Dearnley 5* Crock

Whelan 11
Diarra 9

Jameson 8

Badan 6
Blackwood 5

I really dont think I have unrealistic expectation, Latics shouldnt be in the 4th division (my view).

No ambition to become a Premier League outfit, clearly not sustainable.

While I dont think Keith Curle has all the answers or will play the game as I would prefer, he knows how to produce a promotion winning side.

As much as I dont like Neil Warnock's sides, I respect his knowledge and ability to over achieve.

KC is right manager right time in my opinion, that's all.

Diarria and Jameson 🤔😤😱. How many games have they started between them? If this is the plan for next season, we may as well give up now.

I assume they settled for half wages?
