Hogan at left back was worse and Raglan and McGahey much worse than Sutton would be in their positions.

A proper right back with Kitching left back alongside Hobson and Sutton would be the answer.

Them three weren’t at fault for the goals. Sutton. Misjudging a bounce, the basics. Second not being switched on and allowing his man to run and get his header

All in the right back position he's not suited to play, as for the 2 centre backs they were slow and ponderous and no excuses will wash for their lackadaisical performances.

How ironic would it be if Tuesdays game was called due  to -3 temperatures and MM could have played his strongest team against Hendon today.

The weather forecast predicted this a week ago.

it didn't it predicted monday n tuesday day to be balmy 3 degree stormers.

always stick up for the weather don't l 🙄

PS tuesday won't even get above zero but if covers are on now then we should be ok. just. justttttt.

Amazes me why Conlon didn't start as MM alluded he was great in training scoring lots of terrific  goals.

Even more amazing was when he came on he played in front of the back four.

Not likely to score many terrific goals from there is he?

Also why not start Fondop who would have been ideal up front instead of 2 lightweights?

Nah it will be +1 degree at that time. Perfect weather to watch a slightly stronger shite Oldham team struggle against BoringWood.

We'd be better letting the weather take its toll and give MM more time to play 3 or 4 more  new signings against them later.

Probably saving him for BoringWood but doesn't have a weather app on his phone so doesn't know it's going to be a bit cold and it might be off.

Was there this much of a meltdown when we used to get knocked out of the papa johnstone paints trophy??

Any poor performance results in a meltdown, but I don't think players are aware of that, particularly ours.

You  can't blame Sutton having to play right back when he's a better centre back than the rest and will play in a higher division than Oldham in the future.

PS you forgot Raglan who never won anything and played at a snails  pace and Hogan who was placed in exactly the same dilemma as Sutton by the manager.

Doubt if Nornan will play another game either.

Add Tollit, Shelton and Nuttall and we are really in a bad way

Perspective, BP. We are 6th in the league and have a great owner. Last season we were bottom half and had the owners from hell.

Sutton has the positional awareness of General Custer at Little Bighorn.

And for the #playingoutofpositionlads, it doesn't matter where you are on the field, if you consistently misjudge the bounce of a ball, you are simply not footballing right.

We could do with a winter like 1962-63 when there were hardly any games played from December to March...

But we know home performances have been poor with a back 6 even 7 at times sitting back  lacking any initiative to  have a go at the opposition, today being a great example.

Walker is a good start to change that, but many more runners are needed.

Seen Tarkowski do it many times when here or don't you remember how often he was caught out of position and turned?

Sutton is still young and I maintain he will eventually play a lot higher than us at centre back.

It might only be 13 Jan, but that could just be the funniest comment of the year!

Thank you - I needed cheering up after that bloody result 👍

Shame we couldn't  hang on  a bit longer with Chesterfield  losing a golden opportunity  gone.

Shows to Mellon what a weak squad  he has but even so  should be good enough for the playoffs if only they could do the same at home.

May this has jolted MM into bringing in new players asap knowing now some of these will never be selected again.
