What is it going to take to get this ageing placid fan base up off their feet and to finally take action against an egoistical maniac who has ripped the very soul out of this football club?

At 43 years young I suppose I qualify as one of the ageing placid fan base? Also as one of the forty or so that took the time off work to head down to Moore’s offices in Banbury and stand in front of the television cameras there to protest against the last proper wazzock to own our club I think I’ve managed to get up on my feet to do my bit over time. Have i got that same passion now as I did then as a 20 odd year old? I’m not sure I have. I might be tempted into a trip to Dubai, though I can’t imagine the Dubai constabulary will be quite as agreeable as Thames Valley plod were that day.

It’s got a very non league feel about the place at the moment. On and off the pitch.

I beg to differ. Had a great day out at a very well run non-league outfit today. Draught ale and freshly made, hot Cornish pasties served with a smile both for two quid a pop. Club president took my fiver at the turnstile and he thanked all 101 of us for coming on the way out too, even after his team let a 2 nil lead slip. Good game that finished 2-2.

  3. I ordered a nice new M3 a couple of months ago and was due to pick it up next Saturday at 3pm. To my dismay I’ve just had BMW on to be told they haven’t got one and I’ve can have a 1993 316i instead. Obviously I asked for a refund as that wasn’t what I paid for and they fucked me off and said enjoy the old nail you sucker.

Buzzing for this one.  Me and my 3 lads are travelling down to the South West early Friday afternoon returning on Sunday.  Middle son is 18 on Wednesday so I’m looking forward to buying him his first legal pint - if he’s recovered from his current holiday in Kavos that is.  Even my eldest has got a weekend off from work which is difficult for him but brilliant news for him, me and his brothers.

We have decided that this season will be one of away days, new grounds, food, drink and plenty of laughs.  We may get to BP, but as a family, have no wish to support the current regime. We are a fickle family of four though so that may change after a few wins 🤣🤣🤣

I’ve been a Latics’ fan for 50 years.  Despite having no affinity to Oldham, having been born in Newcastle, Northampton and Darlington respectively and with plenty of other more successful temptations in footballing life, my boys want to support Latics and nobody else.  This weekend to me is what supporting your team means and to be honest, a lot of it is due to the tribalism that this infectious game creates.  It’s why all of us argue and debate so much on here as we care passionately about our Club.

Our Club.  Not the CLG’s.  Not the FLG’s.  Not TTA’s, Torex’s, JWL’s nor any of the other temporary custodians past, present or future.

None of the players are at fault for the shit show that our Club has become.  They will get our total support win or lose.  Provided that they give a shit and play to the best of their abilities and for me, the bar hasn’t been set very high.

Yes I wish we still had Clarke and Baxter.  Maybe there’s still hope for Lang or a Surridge type to join on loan.  But if it’s Iacovitti or Maouche or Desire wearing the shirt then so be it.  The fault is not theirs.

Obviously, I want us to win.  Playing well would be ok.  Whatever happens though, I hope the atmosphere is one that is safe and supportive meaning we can all leave FGR feeling proud of ourselves and our team.  One thing I am certain of is that 90 minutes of football will not spoil my weekend with my boys nor being part of our big Oldham family.

”We’re Taking Over Your Tofu Again”.

    See you on Saturday 👏👏👏👏👏👏

Fair play and a good post.

Most like a bloody good moan (myself included) and heaven knows we’ve had a fair bit to moan about over the years. But it all comes down to one thing - our love of OAFC and a good away day. If we didn’t care we wouldn’t be on here and other platforms putting our two-penneth in. Enjoy your weekend with your boys and I hope we still have a Latics around in a decade or so, so I can do the same with mine.

    Brief notes from tonights meeting:

Paul Whitehead (PW)was the main presenter

    Simon Brooke (SB) in attendance

PW stated Simon Wood was also part of the FLG

There are 3-4 other members who prefer at this time to remain anonymous due to business commitments

It was confirmed that Simon Corney was not part of the FLG

Negotiations have taken place on numerous occasions with Brassbank (Blitz & Gazal) to purchase parts of the ground.

Short term intentions: to purchase the North Stand, the land that is the footprint of the stadium and the car park for c£7m

Intentions are to further develop the North Stand to try and maximise potential £revenue streams to help sustain the club.

It was suggested that the ticket office, marketing dept etc be moved into the. North Stand to enhance the image of the club.

Pretty sure changing rooms being moved was also mentioned as well

Both PW & SB advised fans will be offered the opportunity to invest and details will be released when available

Medium/Long term: develop a hotel attached to the ground, again to help generate £revenue for the club

PW & SB answered a good number of questions from supporters ( but am not a secretary 😉)

I would think the FLG will publish their own meeting notes

    Hope this helps

Were there not two north stands prior to the building of the Ford Stand?  The one in the video and then an almost identical one built around 1961 or so?

Pass, I’m not old enough I’m pleased to say. Started watching in 82-83. My old man will know, he started going in the late 50s.
