opinions4u
Look, I've no idea if the lad's any good or not, but we certainly needed a specialist left back. So he ticks that box. The best way to get out of this division without breaking the bank is to bring in a manager who can bring in players with a bit of fight about them and get them playing together for the cause. Add to that a strike partnership and you give yourself a shout.

It is funny how people make such rash judgements on players they usually havent seen or at most once or twice a season. We have a new manager bringing in his own players, I would advocate giving everyone a chance and lets have a fresh start. Each to their own I suppose. To put it into context, ive seen Taylor have many a bad game, but we know he is good because we see him week in week out im sure there are opposition fans who would wonder what the hype is all about! Ackey
ive heard of him bristol rovers dont want him why do we? We look at the market, we anaylse what we can afford and we take a punt on the best we can hope to sign. Again, I ask, what level of player do you expect us to sign if not him?? NIKI1234
One of my best mates is a Rovers season ticket holder and goes home and away. This is his reply to my text. "Im stunned he is not good enough. He was our worst player by a mile last year. His game is gone and Lescott kept him out the team last year. He is a left back that is right footed. No pace, no over lap just a poor defenfer and not one fan wanted to keep him" Then just spoke to him on the phone and he said if our fans get on Eardleys back then this guy is going to be number one target next year. Sounds great maybe a change of club is what he needs but not exactly glowing references

A change of club, a change of attitude - this is what Penney does.

Matt
No , spot on. After all every time we've signed anyone else they've turned out to be rubbish. Just look at Hazell, or Eyres, or Carss, or , in fact, anybody who has been released or rejected as not good enough for another c;ub. Trotters... LeylandLatic
To be fair, if someone signed Eardley and their fans listened to the people on here they would think they'd been mugged, whatever price they paid. Seems to me like we've got a young player with some real potential who after a series of injuries lost his way a bit. Hopefully DP can put him back on track and we will have both of Wales 1st choice full backs. You don't just become a bad player, the talent is still there, maybe he lost confidence after his injuries, maybe he never had chance to fully recover, we shall see. I don't know much about him either to be honest, but i'm far from slitting my wrists over it and I think it actually has the potential to be a very shrewd piece of business. It's all down to DP and the lad himself how this one turns out.

And no one should sign any of our former players as they are all rejects. And Daniel Jones is Wolves reserves reject, who cannot take instructions. You would never sign anyone if you listened tothe fans. That Ronaldo even. Diving cheat, gets clobbered, easily marked out a game, and jut does flashy stuff, and he can't hack it on a cold Febraury night at Hartlepool. Blue_tak
New manager, new players. How can anybody form an opinion on either, until we've seen a full season under their belts? Fans' opinions about players is subjective, some see good, some see bad. We can't base our opinions on what 'somebody's mate says' or a few postings on a message board. Christ! You only have to look on here to see that! Latics and Penney need to be shrewd and let's face it, the top quality players ain't going to be coming to Boundary Park, because we can't afford them. Let's see what the manager can do with his squad. Good luck JJ.
jsslatic
Welcome to BP, Joe. Has looked a decent player when he's come up against us in the past. And it's nice for TTA to have someone new to invite over for Friday night dinner.

creepy
i wish the moaners would name names for new targets instead of saying 'we should be after championship players' etc to slag new signings off that they havent seen play on a regular basis, there football knowledge must be extensive so lets have a few names eh moaners
