steveoafc
If we're not getting a supporters bar ( and I have no idea if that is the case ) then we're missing an opportunity here IMO. Fair enough, offices will probably bring in more revenue, but what about a decent facility for the long suffering loyal fans? It's not like we're long overdue some comfort is it? HarryBosch
Why do people keep referring to a "supporters" bar rather just a bar? What would the difference be?
Latics_Fanatic
Why do people keep referring to a "supporters" bar rather just a bar? What would the difference be? Only open on match-days so 99% of users will be supporters? We're still getting one anyway, as far as I know...

beag_teeets
Does it really matter?? It makes the webpage heavier having to have the extra characters in "Supporters bar".
Diego_Sideburns
Why do people keep referring to a "supporters" bar rather just a bar? What would the difference be? IIRC "Supporters Bar" was the wording used on the original plan with the planning Application.
bpmarko
If I recall correctly, a bar or catering something or other is mentioned near the end of the 'walk-around video' though the exact wording escapes me.

opinions4u
Not sure where the offices are a better option comes from. Plenty modern ones empty and offered on free periods , low rates etc to increase take up. 66 listed on a quick search. http://propertylink.estatesgazette.com/property-details/5875029-gateway-crescent-oldham-ol9-9xb http://propertylink.estatesgazette.com/property-details/5896485-ansa-house-broadgate-oldham-broadway-business-park-oldham-ol9-9xb unless hope to let to hospital? If the tenants are already lined up I suppose it makes some sense. While appreciating the need to jump into bed with the corporate devil I do hope something is done to reflect the fact the fans are the club. A supporters bar would do this. But, as with office space, I see a lot of empty / derelict pubs on my travels.
steveoafc
If there is no bar planned in the new stand, would either the old club shop or the present corporate facility be an option? I know the size of both are not ideal but could bring in some revenue.
NewBlue
On the topic of the supporters bar and other fan facilities, why don't the club conduct a survey for the supporters so to get the small touches to the new stand right? Reading FC had the same idea at the end of last season, asking about more general issues like stewarding, food and drink, club songs and half time entertainment. If you're interested you can see it here: http://www.readingfc.co.uk/news/article/supporters-survey-your-feedback-030814-1895129.aspx There is a lot lacking in terms of communication between the fans and the club, so this could be an opportunity for the Trust to do it's job and see some real change come into effect under its own vision in the form of the new stand. Matt
I would imagine that due to Health & Safety Regulations that idea wouldn't be a go'er Depends on the assessments. A certain other club that I know of manages to do it.

steveoafc
I heard a kiosk mentioned, a bar in that area would probably be a concourse bar. I think people are wondering about a proper bar with sky tv etc.

ShireBlue
At a complete guess, I'd guess it'd be a concourse bar like at the New York Stadium. Obviously a proper bar with a bit more personality and TVs etc would be better.

I think people are wondering about a proper bar with sky tv etc. if we are not getting a "supporters bar" i think the club could be losing another source of "non match day income" I'm thinking on long the lines of sportmans dinners, theme nights, live bands, school leavers dos etc maybe even wedding packages if the conference suites are big enough to house around 100 people for a sit down meal back to things that was said in the beginning and never mentioned again.. has anyone heard any further talk on the Latics Museum ?
