Coleman could have done more with the first one, assuming he was unable to see the ball on it's way through though.

Nothing he could do with second one.

Third one since he came part way he should of clattered into them to collect it, or stay on line. If stayed on line then the header that scored was straight at him.

One of my favourite moments from Saturday was Coleman allowing their first half free kick to hit the bar. Quality judgment

He was to blame for the third and a bit statuesque for the first but as above - nobody should care and he is excused a sloppy performance after how great he's been for the last couple of months.

This.

He made 11 appearances last season and a huge 33 this season. He has effectively been latics number one for over twelve months. There has been no easing him into the role. No "odd" appearance here and there. He was thrown into a relegation battle last season and he's been trusted with one this season. He will only be better for the experience he has gained but I don't for one minute blame him if he is lacking a bit of stamina at the end of this season as the last few months have taken it out of us in the stands let alone those actually on the pitch.

Not going to number 1 next season. Imagine the reaction if it was a poster on here and not the manager who said he was good enough

Was it clear that it was meant that way or could it be interpreted of us having Coleman & another that would be fighting to play without either having a divine right to call themselves no 1?

Indeed but Dunn did not rate him and it appears Shez shares the view

Or Shez does rate him but thinks he is far from the finished product and it will be beneficial both for the club and Coleman's development to have an experienced keeper on board too.

great potential but only young.

lets not forget that until he was dropped some of his errors where on a par with some of Cornells. He ws given a chance to turn his season around and good on him.

An experienced head either starting or competing with Coleman is needed. Especially if we lose a character like Gerrard.

I can see how Shez is thinking. Let's remember that Coleman is only 20 years old and has had a real baptism of fire facing two relegation battles. He's a terrific prospect, but can't be expected to turn in top performances for a full season. His inexperience will cost us points, but that's part of his learning curve.

Bringing in some experience does two things: 1) help stabilise the defence and 2) continue Coleman's development by watching, listening and learning. He won't be left out in the cold, though. He'll still be part of the squad and will get games, but won't be in the firing line so much, which could damage his career.

I'm pretty certain that this is the sort of conversation that Shez has already had with him.
