Ex players and that

Darren Byfield takes charge at Crawley. He takes over from Matthew Etherington who had been in charge for 32 days. Etherington himself had taken over from Kevin Betsy who'd lasted 4 months.

Crawley is owned by some Crypto Bros, and seemingly intent on out Lemsagaming the Lemsagams.

One of the co-owners is flying back from the states to be in the dug out to support Byfield isn't he?! It's comical, but also very worrying for Crawley fans.

Etherington was in charge for just three games apparently, and he won one of those!

He was our best player last season by a country mile, got shit off the usual suspects on here but if it weren't for him we would of been down by Christmas.

Agreed.

Remarkably consistent, won everything in the air, came across as very genuine.

Strangely criticised as not being better than 4th division standard, at a time when we needed competent 4th division players.

Sadly ended under a cloud though, the sending off was totally out of character and hammered in the final nail.

He came in for a huge amount of criticism from a vocal minority but he always gave his all.

The late sending off at home to Northampton and the first minute penalty at Brentford seem to have clouded the judgement of some.

The Northampton sending off remains unforgivable. I'm still staggered there were actual supposed Oldham fans that clapped him off for his actions. He can get stuffed.

Unsworth says that improvement doesn’t happen immediately, but it seems to at Stevenage & Orient who were struggling with us in L2 not so long ago.

Wellens and Evans  have both  been there since March 2022.
