whittles left foot
Apparently from a Rochdale point of view their local rivalry is with Bury not Oldham.

They're a neutral club not looking for rivalries; a non-league club playing in the league. It's a convenient away trip but you can't muster a rivalry when the support is so disproportionate and they rock up with a thousand fans. Not our fault... Keith Hill makes it quite easy to hate them...

He is quick, reads the game really well and always tries to PLAY the ball out of defence. For me MOM yesterday. He has been superb. A rolls-royce of a defender... Worked really well in first half at least - right in front of me. Nepucemo crosses well, maybe he should be taking the set pieces rather than Byrne doing it all? I reckon Kean Bryan has all the attributes to play as a left back and if we could bring in a quality centrehalf to play alongside Clarke/Gerrard it may well be an option for Wellens. Thought the Rochdale number 6 looked decent, quick and strong.

What the fuck do I know For a 5/10 min spell up to Placide wiping out Gerrard we looked in need of a sub or two. We’d gone a bit flat. Doyle hadn’t had much of an impact in the game so far. Davies neither. Said to my mate while Gerrard was being tended to “you probably take Davies off coz altho Doyles not done a lot, good strikers have poor games & then bag you a winner” Then the bugger gets 2 Oh Eoin Doyle!!!!!!!! LightDN123
Holloway actually gets the assist for both Doyle goals. His impact off the bench has been very good the last 5 games or so

Davies was getting pulled after he miscontrolled a relatively simple throw-in. He's been one of my relatively unsung heroes during Wellens' tenure, the best "English" centre-forward we've had at the club for a long time, you kick it up to him 90% of the time he holds it up or finds a teammate. It wouldn't surprise me if Holloway's upturn in form is something to do with him too.
sjk2008
Placide - 8 Dummigan - 7 (8 without the mistake) Gerrard - 8 Bryan - 9 Hunt - 7 Fane - 6 Gardner - 7 Byrne - 7 Nepumaceno - 7 Davies - 7 Doyle - 9 ———————— Clarke and Holloway both picked up where Gerrard and Davies left off. Menig had some impact down their right. We have a good side and we now have good options off the bench. That could have been 6-1 yesterday. Roll on Wimbledon
Andy-latic
Bryan and Dumningan were the stand out players for me today, absolutely brilliant! And obviously Doyle just did his thing, sheer class
Andy-latic
Absolutely loving it at the minute, last season I'd give Tuesday night home matches a miss as its a bit of a nightmare journey.... But this season is a completely different story, cannot wait for each game, roll on Tuesday

rigsby
Good peformance yesterday but they are a very poor side indeed. Bryan was excellent..as was Davies.AAH made a difference when he came on too. Fane tho really? He cannot control a football to save his life..the one where it rolled under his foot in the 2nd half was cringeworthy.

The guy who stops the other team playing and means we can have the luxury of a Byrne out there. Does his job. Gives us the chance to be as attacking as we are. The man is all over the pitch for 90 minutes can't remember us having a player with a better engine.

Would you move Bryan into midfield to do Fanes job ? I 100% would. Much better player than Fane will ever be
mcfluff1985
Hunt actually did quite a good job against the big wanker yesterday. Seemed it was his job to foul, grab, pull him and stop him winning ad many headers as possible and then Bryan cleared up the loose ball

LightDN123
I agree Fane does do a job, and he is a good tackler and has an engine and that has its benefits for the team. He’s just so frustrating when he just can’t pass or shoot. The latter does not matter as much but he has found himself in some shooting positions. He’s a good player to have in the squad tho
rigsby
sorry but a midfielder has to be able to pass and/or shoot. And i'll add control a ball, fane can do absolutely none of the them. frankly i find it very odd that anyone would want him in the team, oh well. One other moan, gardner, hes appalling. Apart from that, we look in good shape. Edited November 19, 2017 by rigsby
