jsslatic
So what. Ferguson was sacked by St Mirren. Whilst HB's point is silly, that's hardly a fair comparison given the nature of his sacking...
Wozzer
Yates had a squad that should have pissed league 2, failed to get automatic and :censored:ed it up in the playoffs. (According to Cheltenham fans) :censored:ing it up in the play offs. He's a perfect fit here then.
HarryBosch
Whilst HB's point is silly, that's hardly a fair comparison given the nature of his sacking... Why was it silly? I don't recall us ever having to scrape the barrel to the extent of appointing a manager who had recently been sacked by an unfashionable 4th division club. Doing so would mark a low point in my time as a supporter.

His record there was pretty good. And although we may an, urgh, bigger side than Cheltenham I don't think we can look down our noses at a manager because after a few years they thought it best to part with him. Not to mention they've just brought in a new manager that, if our last manager wasn't his son, most of us would probably be very happy with. Although to be fair he did get sacked by Yeovil. Frankly Mr Shankly
The sneery attitude towards Mark Yates is pretty pathetic (ewww, Cheltenham. Cheltenham??!). Yes, we expect a lot as fans but remember we are at the bottom end of the division for budget and the cloth has been cut to the size of a :censored:ing handkerchief. Owner wants someone cheap, we'll be getting someone like Yates. You may as well get your heads around it. Penney was cheap but he was abject :censored:e. Dickov was cheap and it worked for a bit before turning :censored:. LJ was cheap and he worked. There is a pattern here and if anything our board is getting better at, it is spotting an unpolished gemstone.
Frankly Mr Shankly
I'd still have Redders though, like a hungry tramp diving on a bag of chips.
Simoncorneyisgod
I'd run over hot coals to get Redders......proved he cuts the mustard both with young players and with the Leeds 1st team (not spent a penny either I don't think?) Would definitely sit in the 'sell more ST's box'
