Is it this fella...? If so, one suspects the Johnson family have been involved.....!?!?

Paul Anthony Ashworth (born 29 September 1969[1]) is a former English footballer and assistant manager who is currently working as Technical Director of the Kwara Football Academy in Nigeria.

Ashworth had previously played at youth level for Norwich City before setting up PASS Soccer Schools, a national company. He later worked for Cambridge United and Peterborough United before moving to Latvia where he managed FK Ventspils, FK Riga and Skonto Riga as well as taking over at Russian side FC Rostov as Sporting Director. He has worked as a Technical Director in Nigeria since May 2010.

In 1992, Cambridge United offered Ashworth a role as youth development officer at the club. He had previously worked with Kit Carson at Carrow Road and teamed up with him again at the Abbey Stadium.[3] The job was to nurture the club's youth system and at its height, 70% of the first team squad had come through the youth ranks. It was here that he met Gary Johnson who was the club's youth team manager (whom he later met again in Latvia).

More about Ashworth, whose brother is head of youth development at the FA

Has previously applied unsuccessfully for his brother's job, Kilmarnock and Barnet

Openly admitted he hasn't got many contacts in the game...

Worked with Gary Johnson and coached at some football league teams in the past

His brother is Dan Ashworth? He's a good football man, but that means :censored: all.

"

You're absolutely right about it meaning :censored: all, but D. Ashworth has worked wonders at National level since moving to the FA. Maybe P. Ashworth could lean on him for advice...

The only benefit I could see is perhaps DA nudging some u19s to come on loan here. But even then, that seem implausible, it'd come down to the club.

That Dickov quote about there only being 92 jobs springs to mind. There's such a finite number, but we end up with such a disappointing shortlist. I wasn't expecting Mourinho, but come on....

He's basically Dave Hockaday.

Might hold fire on that ST application...

Speaking of which, 16 April and still no ST details released which is odd...

Yates by far my preferred option from the list. Never saw what the problem was with him anyway.
