I said my short temper. I suspect you know that and, like I said about 15mins ago, are using my posts to do your job and linking me to things I didn't say.

I do not believe you could actually be as thick as you are making yourself look.

What an angry old/young man you are.

I missed "my". Apologies.

PS. I'm a :censored:ing genius and was a child prodigy at everything. :icon_peace:

I must admit, I am concerned about the massive lack of long term planning at the club these days, with almost a whole squad on 1 year or less contracts. The feelgood factor at the club will simply be a quick boost before a short string of bad results and we go through the cycle again. Massive questions for me still remain with the board.

I've not been yet this season but when the time comes to go I don't think I'll know a single player. It can't be good when a fan misses around 15 matches and then feels quite alienated when they return.

Confidence is a big thing in football, look at Curtis Main, Holloway and Palmer for example.

I don't know why a fan would feel alienated when a bunch of serial losers were shipped out to be replaced by a new crop with confidence. The one year contract point I'll take but the players that are good enough should be offered longer term deals by January, rather than May 10th.

I know there's a bit of a feel good factor now with this squad (I haven't seen them play this season so I can't comment) and that's all well and good but in my opinion nothing has changed in regards to the owner and board. They're still going to be f***ing us over and being content with just existing as a football club and people just seem to forget about it all after a couple of good results. The atmosphere was so toxic after Sheridan left and we were reduced to 6 squad members (and rightly so). It's been the worst couple of seasons in my life of being a Latics fan on and off the field.

I just feel like the bigger issue is getting ignored again and the sooner we are rid of this owner who has no degree of care for the club whatsoever, the better. Won't be renewing my season ticket until he's gone and there's a new structure in place with a clear view on how the club is going to be taken forward in the long term.

"They're still going to be f***ing us over and being content with just existing as a football club..."

I honestly cannot understand why the average supporter is so obsessed with the daily running and administration of a football club.

The above statement says it all "...existing as a football club..."

Isn't that all a supporter needs...to go to the football, be entertained and then go home and go about his/her everyday life?

There are more important things in life than football.

As long as I am enjoying what I pay my money for, then that's me done.

I'd say it's actually quite obvious why a fan would feel alienated when he doesn't know the players that he is supposed to be supporting.

Yeah I do get it, but my view is that they have got rid of players that aren't cutting the mustard. Should we just keep them so that fans know them?

Don't want to speak for FMS but I suppose the fact that this has been almost systematic makes fans feel isolated beyond just 'unfamiliar'.

It's that there's have been so few 'heroes' over the past few seasons, with the exception of a couple of good loanees. It goes beyond the turnover from this season. That being said, I like the look of this crop, both in quality and in ethic so far. Won't be too long before they feel like a settled Latics team.

Perhaps 'alienated' is a bit strong, but I feel like there's a big disconnect. Part of being a supporter is having your favourites. Players that you know give their all and are part of the fabric of the club. Klock sounds like he's all the hallmarks of being one, but the deflating thing is we all know he'll probably be gone by the end of the season if not before.

I don't want to hark back to days of yore (I grow bored of fans who yap on about the good ol' days), but the club need to do everything they can to keep some sort of togetherness between fans and the politburo. I get the sense this new strategy of short contracts might mean more of a detachment than unity.

Finally, is that all it takes for a feel good factor? Two bore draws, a win in a tinpot cup and a scrappy win away at Bury? It also feels like our expectation levels have dropped somewhat and all.

A big part of the feelgood factor is undoubtedly the fact many thought we were in for a real struggle and very quickly it looks like we actually might not be - I'll take any reason to feel good about Latics.

It's the progression we've seen game in, game out aswell. And the possibilities of what us already being so organised, committed and energetic might bring.

I've genuinely enjoyed the matches apart from Millwall. The results might be similar to last year so far but the performances haven't

Only feels???

It's been drummed into us by our "leaders" that we are a club punching above our weight at League One level. Sadly, we've plenty who believe/are happy to accept that.

Laughable that people see "surviving" as being an acceptable aim. Ambition? Nah, leave that for others - we're little Oldham, we're lucky to have a club.

This. There are a couple of players that are a bit on the quiet side but most have a personality and you see it in their play.

I think its the flashes of good play that most have been impressed with. Erwin and Flynn against Wigan. Croft and Klok (if only for ten minutes) in the same game. Green, Fane, Clarke all having consistently good games. Players just showing the willing to put their bodies on the line and throw themselves infront of a shot or a cross.

At the minute, the side feels very Paul Warne. They give 110% every game but without scoring. Hopefully they will gel as they get to know each other better and that end product will come.

We don't hate any of them yet and they don't hate us yet.

Everyone feels all warm & fuzzy with it.

Where do you feel this club should be then?

Barry tells us we should be League Two and that we should be careful what we wish for if we have giddy thoughts of the possibility of being promoted to the Championship. But it's getting on for fifty years since Latics have been in the bottom division so I'm not willing to accept that that's our level. I can live with it being League One but it would be nice to think we could ocassionally flirt with the playoffs.

Robinson seems to be doing things the right way. I expected him to build a solid, hard-to-beat, boring team but it sounds like the side he's put(ting) together have a little bit more about them, so who knows...? It's very early days though to be too getting carried away - none of our players have even scored in the first four league games!

All that's great but I still have no time for the Boardroom monkeys.

If there's one thing this forum does, it reminds me constantly that we have some proper knobhead fans. If you think I'm talking about you, good chance you're right

I'm struggling to completely get my head round it but would it be fair to say, in summary, that some people are moaning about the fact that some people have stopped moaning?

I'd stick Erwin in the same category as the others, moreso than Fane.

I know it's a big 'if', but if his efforts in the last three matches had gone the correct side of the post we'd probably be saying he could be the best player we've had in years. He's been excellent in every facet, except from sticking the ball in the net, which I'm hoping, with a bit of luck or confidence, will come very soon...

I'm ambitious. I want us to win every game. I want us to chase promotion.

But, I just enjoy being a part of the club. I started watching Oldham with my dad. We used to alternate. I'd also watch United. i came to enjoy and appreciate the club. I could actually socialise, have a laugh, enjoy the game and really connect with the club. It's a community club. it's bizarre that some people don't get it. We had to sell the Clayton Arms to pay the tax bill. It's always been like this.

You either get it or you really should just :censored: off down the road.
