mikeroyboy
For me the interview unequivocally clarified some points that have appeared obvious to me over the last few seasons. Corney does not have the stomach or the clout to fund the club on a run at promotion. Nor has he the stomach for relegation from L1, even with dwindling crowds. His search for a buyer has also highlighted the non existence of a person or group willing to take us forward. For the time being we are stuck on a wing and a prayer and it seems January will one again be the start of the annual 'action for survival routine'. Fair play to anyone who is giving us a club. Guest nonaenever
My last point on the subject. From when I last saw the Chairman close up - he certainly looked stressed and worn out as a person on the interview. Appreciate he's travelled a lot too and that may have contributed to his physical appearance. Just think - on a human level - he needs to be given a bit of a break now from the battering he often takes. Over and out.
Careca9
Nice to see the chairman step up and answer a few questions in front of a camera........im sure there's plenty more we'd like him to answer on management selections/team building ect. so the fans called out need to step up and ask them for us all or close their account down on here and piss off
Gary1906
As far as I'm concerned he came across very well. I've spoken to him a few times down at Chapel Road and he's always been very open and honest. I'd love to have a long chat with him at BP, not to pick holes in what he says but to get some sort of insight into the daily trials and tribulations of running a football league club. His strongest critics should take him up on his offer, they might learn something if they can be bothered to listen. Anyone can make decisions and criticise from their armchair when not knowing the full facts. Go and speak with him! How many other club owners/chairman offer that sort of access? None that I can think of. Well done SC and keep going.

He clearly has the club at heart and strives on valiantly against all odds. Success is achieved through great effort but is not without error and shortcomings along the way. SC has today been open and honest and admitted he has made mistakes and I respect that. The critics on here, who i suspect have never experienced success nor defeat in any walk of life, now have the opportunity to meet SC and offer him their advice on how the club can be run better. I shall look forward to the day.

Would anyone on OWTB honestly like to be in his shoes right now? also in his words did he say nobody works as hard as Robinson? Well if that's the case it must be the shower of :censored:e he's working with then? Clarke and ripley are excused from that comment. laticsmarra
Honest and open interview who would want to be in his shoes. £300K owing to HMRC is obviously dangerous as it indicates there are arrears in there. HMRC currently have a specialist unit monitoring Sports Clubs and their tax payment situation. As soon as they fall behind they are fast tracking them towards winding up orders. underdog
I'm going to play devils advocate here. Put my fan hat back on and asked what do you think we owe/to pay out his month? Confirmed HMRIC bill £300k Staff wages/players wages...best guess? Owe other clubs....best guess, ticket sales and loan players? Other businesses? How on earth do you fund a club on a monthly basis? HarryBosch
By the way, I'm no corporate tax expert, but a £300k tax bill with Corporation Tax at 20% would represent a £1.5m profit wouldn't it? Or would/could it be something else?
jsslatic
Being under a transfer embargo and being aware of 300k that needs to found quickly feels like the kind of thing the Trust should know about from being on the board... (Apologies if it's been mentioned elsewhere, sure it probably has but cannot be bothered to rake over the various threads of last few days)

Does anyone else think we have been unlucky with the fixture list this season? All the teams who would bring 2,000+ like Bradford, Bolton, Sheff Utd etc and even the ones around 1,000 like Rochdale and Bury we don't play any at home until end of January. Due to HMRC will probably be the monthly PAYE and NI deductions and Employer's NI costs , plus possibly a quarter's VAT payment if the month coincides with the VAT quarter?
