Ex players and that

Recommended Posts

Just as a little exercise I thought what a team of our ex-players including loanees who are now playing at a higher level might look like. Notable given our current travails just how many are strikers

Any improvements on this team and subs bench?

GK Ben Amos

FB Ryan Bertrand
FB Neil Ardley
CH James Tarkowski
CH Jonathan Grounds

M Chris Taylor
M Jason Lowe
M Korey Smith
M Dale Stephens

F Chris O’ Grady
F Matt Smith

Subs

Adam Legzdins
Johnson Clarke-Harris
Aaron Wilbraham
Harry Bunn
Neil Kilkenny
Tom Adeyemi
Lewis Grabban

Jose Baxter has just assisted a goal with one of the best passes you'll ever see.

It's sad that with all the attacking talent in our midfield, none seem to be able to play with the freedom of Baxter. We might actually score goals, if so.

Dunn has provided a few since he came but the problem is our forwards aren't clever enough to read them!

Interesting work chaps.

Also interesting those that we thought had a successful spell, and who we let go prematurely.

We had Ashley Williams on trial? As in Swanseas Ashley Williams? Jesus wept.

I saw him play for our reserves and thought he did well, I think we put in a bid which was rejected by Hednesford, not sure if John Sheridan was the manager at the time.

If it was when Clint Hill broke his leg Dowie was in charge. Must have been down to Bib Dowie knowing the non league level as we obviously bought Fitz Hall & Wayne Andrews around the same time

Think we may have been outbid by Stockport for him. Make of that what you will.

Nah it was Dowie and at the time that Chris Moore was starting to put a block on players coming in.
