In this day and age everyone knows someone or has family in different parts of the country, just phone a friend and get them to order the tickets for you.

If you are in the home end have a bit of respect for the locals, tis only a game of football.

This is going to be one of those frustrating days where football shoots itself in the foot....there is a good chance that there will be 1000 empty seats around the ground representing 20-30k lost revenue but rather than a bit of business sense and allocating us the whole of their east stand for example they will no doubt (indeed they already are) sell tickets to Northampton fans all over the stadium and leave many, many hundreds of Latics fans disappointed ?

Football is mostly run by totally.incompetent owners

I think sometimes though it’s not necessarily all the fault of football clubs, the Police seem to have a say also

Just looked at their home crowds.....rarely much above 5k excluding away fans....even for the big game v Plymouth last week there were only 5.4k home fans.....the stadium holds around 7750 so with a bit of planning and forethought they could have given us 2.5k tickets ....as I said, football is run by twats

it would have been great if Latics had taken the initiative here and anticipated this a few weeks ...or maybe our famous trust and fans representative (LOL) could have actually raised this

It’s not the role of the Trust to sort out ticketing arrangements (LOL).

If we stay up. Would you be shunting Latics fans around the ground, the majority with season tickets, to accommodate the maximum number of Sunderland fans? Where would you make them move from? The main stand, the North stand. I'm afraid your post comes across as being very naive.

In short, yes!!!

in exceptional circumstances and in order to make a large amount of extra revenue.....Northampton could literally be missing out on 50k next Saturday.....no other business would do that

Maybe Northampton thought it would go down to the wire and thought they’d be able to fill the stand with their own fans? They were still in with an outside chance of staying up til yesterday.

No other business has the same sort of law, produced after a bunch of lies, in effect as football does. Football could cope with mixing home and away fans, but only certain away fans, children with their parents and those who are older (probably younger than OAP level but not by much), as examples. Anything else is a bit of a risk, given the Green Street wannabes, who seem to follow every club (see the pushing and shoving yesterday).

The deep-seated pride in your team and hatred of others stems back to our cave-dwelling times. OK Oldham and Northampton are not exactly rivals, but it doesn’t take much for incidents to happen.

Sure, but they and Latics should have discussed contingencies for each possible scenario a couple of weeks ago, it is what it is but it highlights the incompetence of lower league clubs to likely miss out on this much money

Plus club fines if there's a pitch invasion.

I think the club are missing an opportunity to screen the game in the North Stand..

I agree this is a good idea, but there may be a pre booked event taking place at the same time as the game. If not the club could do a pie and peas event.
