Macclesfield Town FC, Moss Rose Stadium, London Road, Macclesfield SK11 7SP Visiting supporters are in the Big Brand Ideas Stand which has a capacity of up to 403 seats and the John Askey Terrace, which has a standing capacity of 1530. If appropriate, pay on the day supporters will need purchase a ticket at the Away Ticket Office, which is located immediately to the left of the ground next to the Silkmen Café, and is open from 1pm. All student supporters will be asked to provide proof of ‘student’ status at the turnstile when entering the ground. Disabled persons’ facilities: Wheelchair user facilities are in the away section of the Big Brand Ideas stand. The Club charges the full price for ambulant disabled supporters and for wheelchair users. Where disabled supporters require assistance, their helpers will be admitted free of charge. Disabled persons’ tickets must be booked at least 24 hours in advance of kick-off. How to get there: By Road: From the North (M6) Exit the M6 at junction 19 (Knutsford) and follow the A537 to Macclesfield. Follow the signs to the Town Centre. The ground is signposted from the town centre but, if in doubt, follow the signs towards Leek (A523). The ground is about one mile out of town on the Leek road A523 with the stadium is immediately in front of you. From the North (Manchester/M62+M60) Leave the M60 at Stockport and follow the A6 until the road forks. Take the right-hand fork signposted Macclesfield (A523). Follow this road past the town until you reach the end of the dual carriageway. The ground is roughly 1.25 miles on your right. OR Leave the M60 at J3 Cheadle and follow the A34 following the signs for Macclesfield and 'Other Routes'. From the South (M6) Exit the M6 at junction 17 (Sandbach) and follow the A534 to Congleton. From here take the A536 to Macclesfield. After passing the Millers pub on the left, continue for about 1/4 of a mile and take the first right after the speed-camera onto Moss Lane. Follow Moss Lane until you reach the ground. Continue along Moss Lane past the ground and round a right-hand bend to the away end of the ground. From the East (Buxton) Come into Macclesfield on the A537 (Caution as it is reportedly the most dangerous road in the country). At the bottom of the hill with the station opposite, turn left onto the dual carriageway. Then as above. Car Parking Although the Club does not have a car park for visiting supporters, there is ample road side parking in the immediate areas around the ground. The Club asks supporters to be advised to check for double white and yellow lines. The Club says a very safe place to park is in the Lyme Green Retail Park, which is only about 300 yards South of the ground down the London Road or on the London Road itself. Coach Parking Although the Club does have the provision to park 3 coaches (free of charge) on Moss Lane outside the away supporters' terrace, the Club would be pleased to arrange additional coach parking spaces for visiting supporters. If there are more than 3 visiting supporters’ coaches, please contact the stadium manager at least a day before hand at stadium@mtfc.co.uk. By train: The nearest station is Macclesfield. Leave the station and turn left up Sunderland Street until you reach a major crossroads at the war memorial. Take the left here and follow for roughly a mile. The ground is immediately in front of you. By Bus: You can also catch a bus up to the ground from the new bus station in the town centre. To reach the bus station from Macclesfield railway station, cross the main road outside the station using the pedestrian crossing, turn right and then turn left by the car showroom into Waters Green and follow this road up the hill (Queen Victoria Street) to the bus station on the left. Buses returning from the ground stop on the main road outside the railway station. Service 9 Moss Rose circular: Every 30 minutesService 14 Langley – hourly. Where to drink: The Keith Alexander Bar at the ground admits both home and away supporters. It is located in the Henshaw's Stand next door to the Sammy McIlroy Suite and serves hot food. The closest pub is the Golden Lion, which is just under a ten-minute walk from the away turnstiles. It serves real ale and offers pie & chips plus a pint for £5. The pub also offers free parking for coaches and minibuses if arranged in advance (Tel: 01625 423763). To find the Golden Lion, head down Moss Lane, which goes behind the away terrace, and then turn left at the corner of the ground and walk down behind the new stand. Keep straight on this road and you will come to the pub on the left. Also for real ale, it is suggested to take the ten minute walk to the Railway View pub on Byrons Lane. This smallish pub has around six ales on offer including guest beers. It also sells homemade pies. To find it, follow the A523 from the ground towards Macclesfield town centre. At a set of traffic lights turn right into Byrons Lane. Go over the railway bridge and the pub is on the right. Where to eat: Food inside the ground not only includes the usual burgers and hot dogs, but also a selection of pies and pasties, from local baker Brassingtons. But I agree with starting Hunt and using Nepo further forward. He'll start Branger rather than Baxter with Lang up top. Unless there's a signing in the meantime... Lang would absolutely need the right service from that midfield (i.e. not hopeful long balls for him to flick on to no one) but if he gets it that team could work well.
