Micah - this week's raising of hopes

Recommended Posts

Can't help but think city will do all they can to structure a deal that sees us with as little share as possible. Obviously don't know the detail of our sell on clause but there are always ways around it...large appearance bonus payments...international cap bonus payments...even multi player deals. For example if a team were interested in Lescott and Richards what would be stopping them paying £10m for Lescott and nothing for Richards?..........or city might not give a :censored: about £2m because try are :censored:in wedged!

In any swap deal the tangible value of the transfer would be decided by tribunal and we would still get something. Whether that is less than it would be in a normal case is debatable but we certainly wouldn't lose out completely. The only way we get nothing is if he genuinely goes for nothing which is very unlikely unless his contract expires. Even in a structured deal we would get a percentage of monies from appearance based milestone payments and the like. As long as they sell, whatever way they do we'll get our share. As you say - it's likely they really couldn't give a :censored: about this sell on clause with their current financial situation, this is chicken feed.

Not sure if anyone saw it this morning but on SSN the paper view chap confirmed Micah is defo leaving this summer. Didn't mention cash amount, merely that he's defo off.

PS - RIP The Ultimate Warrior! We were pretty damn good when was doing his thing! #Nostalgia

Another scenario... City are placed under an immediate transfer embargo for breaking financial fair play rules, and none of their players are allowed to leave by the club.. that would be just our luck. Although they will need to reduce their wage bill to comply, it will be interesting to see if they are given more time to get their finances in order, in which case they would look to ship him out.

I would put my money on City being fined! It rather defeats the logic of the fair play rules, but this is EUFA and some of the fine might be payable in cash!

What a load of tosh this FFP rule is,

So i win the euro Lottery of £125 million and want Latics to spend half of it on building a decent squad with better paid players but can't because of the rules.

These rules simply mean the more you earn the more you can spend , the less you earn the less you can spend ie -

A financial league.

In another few years we can forget about playing football and just issue a financial league in May and whoever is top gets the title.

It was all about self protection by the biggest clubs...

Exactly. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Perhaps the final league tables should be adjusted by adding points for the budget used for the season. eg. Wolves get none and the rest get a pro rata addition. Then the team that finishes top would be the best managed team with the money available. Leyton Orient would probably finish top this season.

Wow if Orient go up in the play offs come August can we sing 'we are top o'th league?'

Was talking about this on a course this week to a sheff Utd and Middlesbrough fan....think about it 2 large grounds that cannot attract the fans back to support them due to the quality of product on the pitch, FFP now means that these chairman cannot 'speculate to accumulate' in order to attract the fan base back to the club on a regular basis....wealthy owners with a potential large fan base will no longer be attracted by football as they can't spend their money.

FFP is destroying the fans ability to dream

The FPP ruling is to being challenged in the courts, I suspect it will be scrapped.

A little dickie bird tells me his move to Newcastle is practically a done deal for a fee between £4-6m. He's replacing Debuchy who is off to PSG.

We seem to be having a lot of links with Newcastle these days ?

city have broke the ffp rules, one of the sanctions they could face is a limit in non british players in the champions league squad, hopefully not as this could mean they may need to keep Micah to fill that quota

They have plenty of kids in the development squad who could fill the quota (step up Ellis Plummer).

Arsenal Target £40m Premier League Trio as Arsene Wenger Prepares Man City, Southampton & Swansea City Raids:

"Wenger has all but given up hope of persuading French international Bacary Sagna to remain at the Emirates Stadium and as such will look to land adaptable Man City defender Micah Richards, who is looking to re-ignite his stuttering career."

"The 25 year old England man has made just two Premier League starts and wants a fresh challenge and is said to be open to a move to join Arsenal with Wenger ready to offer £8m for the Man City man."
