Stagger Lee Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 Lowlights of the 2014/15 seasonObviously we have a highlights thread but as always there are lowlights aplenty so lets list them here. From Barrys cardigan to the MK dons game. LJ leaving to Barry threatening the mods of this forum. Go ahead and vent ...... Quote
oafc-latics Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 (edited) Aside from the obvious... Barnsley away. Worst game of football I've seen in a long time. Worse than Yeovil and Preston at home for me, because we were beaten by better teams then, but Barnsley were just as :censored: as us that night. God knows why they wanted Johnson after that performance. Edited May 10, 2015 by oafc-latics Quote
JoeP Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 (edited) This thread could go on a while. Avoiding the really controversial one, I'm guessing either MK Dons games weren't much fun.. Might be harsh and would love to be proven wrong, but the anti-climax of the managerial appointment after yet another uninspiring season when the team and stand seems to be coming together has killed a little bit more of the enthusiasm I have left. the_mighty_bosh Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 The Evans saga. It's the first time I've questioned my support for the club, it's lead to me losing a lot of faith in the running of the club and I question a lot more of the boards decisions now. The first 4 months of the season were probably the most stable, if unspectacular, that the club has had for a long time and if that continued for the rest of the season we would have been right with the playoff pack, who have been wildly inconsistent. Ever since the club thought about signing him in early December without proper due diligence there has been a whole host of decisions that have unsettled the club off the pitch and derailed the team on it. While I believe LJ was touting himself to other clubs I also think the fallout from the Evans saga increased his desire to leave the club, even if he did have an interest in signing him. On the pitch, the 2nd half at Yeovil was a definite lowlight. Holden got his tactics badly wrong. Quote
archiecat Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 Those two words, Due Diligence ! Every time we had a low, they appeared either verbally or in print. I never want Due Diligence associated with my club again. Quote

opinions4u Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 Evans. It was the poison that destroyed a good thing. And we had the momentum for the season to be a really good thing. Quote
Chris Richard Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 Injuries to key players such as kelly, Forte, Jones, Big G. Took the sting out of us when we looked like doing good. The non signing of Daniel Johnson when we may have been able to afford him. The disappointment I felt when we signed Reece murphy after all the hype surrounding him. Then the obvious... Quote

Stagger Lee Posted May 10, 2015 Author Posted May 10, 2015 It all started with the kit being months late. Yes. Not a good omen was it Closing of the Chaddy end has had no mention yet. Which to me suggests how deflated we are in the end of the season happenings. I would have thought under more normal conditions something like that would get a very strong mention. Quote
retiredballboy Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 The Evans saga easily wins this one. If it wasn't bad enough the fact we were considering signing him in the first place, the way it was handled showed us up to be a complete joke. In all honesty I can't think of many lower lowlights than this over the last 10 years Quote
GlossopLatic Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 The Evans saga was one of the lowest points of supporting the club in my 25 years the board showed embarrassingly poor judgement on that one. That and everytime Barry opened his mouth, and his general attitude towards the fans was diabolical. Quote

Not on here, too many on here think the RRE is the pinnacle of all football stands and is that much better than the Chaddy it is obvious that the right decision has been made Quote
whitey1980 Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 For all the off field candidates - it can't get worse than the 7-0 drubbing at MK Dons! I managed to drink my way through the first 20 minutes of the second half, so only had to stomach the 5 goals conceded! Quote
ShireBlue Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 The handling of the Evans affair (so to speak) was appalling and showed the club up. The capitulation against MK Dons was embarrassing. However, the record against the bottom 6 has been so costly. Quote
