BP1960
Bit gutted we've let the good Wilson go and kept the :censored: one. Brian Wilson was much more reliable, stepping up to the mark in emergency roles. James didnt always do that, and for a centre back isn't very good in the air defending set plays. Stevie_J
Gerrard will probably be on Twitter shortly asking why Sheff Utd weren't in for him... "Need a centre-back...?"
Stevie_J
I'd prefer Brian That's it, feller. The one who's stayed at relegation fodder Latics is definitely infinitely better than the one who's left to join promotion hopefuls Sheff Utd. #winning

Just my opinion. He's my new cult favourite. Holidays in the Yorkshire Dales, Reuses teabags, peoples champion!
longtimeblue
You're right. He's already had his say on it. He's a legend in his own head that lad.

the_mighty_bosh
James is the better all round player and I think a big budget League One club is about right for him (alongside a leader), but I think Brian had a very steady season and is an experienced option that can play anywhere across the defence. He'll be useful next season. James falls into the Kelly and Forte category. Good at this level and I'd prefer them to have stayed, but as we're ripping up and starting again they're not indispensable.

Bristolatic
This is where "Special Mention" at last realises his full potential. In fact, he improves so much that Championship clubs are after him in January, so we can cash in on a 6 figure fee. I've had some really weird dreams recently. NewBlue
The bloke kicking the ball a different direction to him then flicking him the V's at Crewe will go down forever. Players with talent above this level, but it'll take a very good manager to strengthen his mind to make him consistently good even at this level. The one player that was almost unanimously disliked here yet I'm slightly disappointed we've lost a player with decent potential. It'll be interesting to see whether the very different expectations at Sheffield United will mean he fares differently. They seemed to have a massive gripe about players with his mentality last season.
Lee Sinnott
He was excellent in 14/15. Started 15/16 playing like a fairy. Sorted himself when Shez came in and finished the season relatively well...

Yes. At the end of 14/15 many on here were worried he would be snapped up by another club.
