Is he going to be first choice or a bench warmer?

If it's a 2 year contract first team I'd have thought?

Given his experience, and the fact he was in Ligue 1 last season I'd say first team too.
He's been around at least a week, but may take a few games to get up to speed.

Is he going to spend chunks of the season away for internationals?

Judging by today's announcement about NI squads, it won't matter as we will be able to cancel games if we wish. McLaughlin and Dummigham both called up, add-in Calm Johnny and we have 3 out so can postpone.

We have previous of not cancelling despite being able to, presumably for financial reasons though.

Shez says he might bring in a 'number one'. Why waste money on a third keeper?

Cos Placide isn't his signing, he's not happy with signings being made by others at the club, he doesn't rate Placide, and is fighting a bit of a battle internally at the club.

That's my guess.

As a manager you have to work with what you have got, in industry managers often have no say in who's employed.

From today's Oldham Chronicle.

A deal for the Haiti international has not yet been completed, despite an agent posting a 'signing' picture on social media this week.

"He is here and he's a good lad and a good goalkeeper who is training well and hard," Sheridan said of Placide.

"We will see what the outcome is. It has to be sorted out before next Thursday and it will be.

"Ideally, I would like a number one. Ben has come in and he has done well. Johny is coming in, but are those two a 'number one'? I don't know.

"There is a goalkeeper I could go and get, but again it's down to circumstances."

He's not sounding a very happy bunny is he?
