Sloshed Joe Posted June 17, 2023 Share Posted June 17, 2023 Alty also signed 6ft 5 left sided ball playing CB Sam Roscoe from Linfield. Certainly good enough for a move to the EFL. The recruitment / scouting team at Alty certainly seem to be able to pick and entice a player. I met an Alty scout at a FC United match last season and they signed Regan Linney straight after the game He didnt match our profile, but the scout thought he'd score goals in the NL. Linney didn't show much in the match against Latics at BP, but I think their scout might be right in the long term. However, we have since signed Willoughby so I can't argue with that Could of had both for nothing, both can play as a lone man up front as well as off the flank, Willoughby is the natural goalscorer though his finishing is top drawer he just seems to have that half a second more, Linney would/could of fit in with Unsworths philosophy though which I feel goes along the lines of 'hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard' but he does have some questionable behaviour in his back story which could of gone against him, his best games I've seen him in were wide left in a front three or a midfield four which is an area we've been weak in.
