razza699
Might be a daft question but seen a lot of people on Twitter saying come back Shez... Poll time !
Crusoe
It's not a cast iron rule but "don't go back" seems sound to me. It didn't work for Big Joe. And what's Shez done to earn a move back up to League One? Hardly shown himself to be succeeding.

Gaz_Oafc
Does shez now become the new Andy Ritchie? another "let's get one of our legends who happens to have done :censored: all, but will deffo lead us to the champions league" type we always get when we're either struggling or managerless! leeslover
Not for me to be in charge, but always welcome back here and deserves a warm welcome. I'd go with this probably. *wonders how many managers we go back since we achieved a promotion, which Shex has done...*
LaticsPete
I'd go with this probably. *wonders how many managers we go back since we achieved a promotion, which Shex has done...* Our last was Royle of course. But didn't Penney. Moore and Talbot as well as Sheridan all take clubs up elsewhere? Edit Wadsworth too ! and Warnock of course..... PlayItLivo
Hell no, fortunately history has been fortunate enough to gloss over just how bad we were in the last half of a season under him. Fortunate enough not to tarnish his reputation as a "legend" amongst fans. He is definitely not the answer. Bet that's a hefty pay off with 3 years on his contract left to run though. They don't look beyond the club, IMO the difference between Shez and Dickov was that Shez had more money at his disposal Edited August 28, 2012 by Tommy_Fent
Latics_Fanatic
Wouldn't mind seeing Andy Ritchie back at the club, he got sacked within a month of me starting coming to games - bad times.
Twisbrogan
There's a lot to like about Shez in terms of our history but given the end of his first spell and how he basically remodelled Chesterfield into a home for ex-Latics, I couldn't help but think that a return here would mean that we would see a lot of Chesterfield players making the trip the other way. He clearly likes working with players he's known previously (which can be a good thing) but it would feel like the start of a backwards step. Having said that, my love for Andy Ritchie is unquenchable and blind to all logic. Regardless of whether it would be a good or bad thing, I couldn't ever deny him a place at our club. Whenever he pops up on Late Kick Off I have ensure that the wife & kids are asleep and the curtains drawn. Stevie_J
Can we have a 'Only if he brings Jack Lester with him' option?
RobOAFC
Put not arsed - but always will get a warm welcome. How about him taking over if PD is sacked so is caretaker manager and the job is his if he does well enough in x amount of games?

the_mighty_bosh
My favourite Latics player since I've followed us and I think that, all things considered, he did a decent job with us. But I certainly wouldn't have him back. EDIT: Didn't realise he had been sacked when I wrote this. I still wouldn't have him back but I can see why it's a more realistic prospect now that we wouldn't have to pay compensation. Oh Heck C-Beck
Haha I see Dickovs reign is entering the bring back X phase. He must surely be in the end game now!
al_bro
Only one choice for me if PD is sacked, but he would laugh at the offer. Harry Rednapp!!!!! Ah well we can dream can't we.
sunshine185
Seems like its a "no" for Sheridan coming back, now if there was a poll on Ian dowie I think that would be a different outcome.
oafc1955
I think Dowie is the best manager we've had since Royle... Regardless of any bad blood I would have him back in a heartbeat!
longtimeblue
Somebody should set up a Dowie and Royle poll. Sheridan's one of the few modern day legends and, as it's already been said, even a sacking didn't tarnish it... Might still do a job in centre midfield but not as manager.
