Too many yesterday not true Latics fans ,just tagged along. There was a constant stream of people wandering about not watching the match. Although there was more noise etches ternary, and we won,Sheffield United and Chesterfield were far better matchday experiences for true fans.

I suppose you could argue that we need them and they may turn up at BP and grow our fan base.

THIS. This is the absolute top and bottom of it.

Dale and GMP need to hang their heads - we all saw it coming.

They never learn. It happened at Stockport a few years ago, Bury and now at Rochdale.

These clubs need to think about safety before profit and if it is the case the Police need to rethink their policy of charging more if the game is classed an all-ticket game. Doing that is only going to tempt clubs to try save money at the expense of safety.

This kind of trouble doesn't happen at BP because the away fans have plenty of seats.

In fairness, we had a good allocation and premier league clubs are restricted, in terms of the numbers of tickets, week in and week out. Just because we could've sold more doesn't mean we're automatically entitled to more.

That said, I'd have gone in the home end if I didn't have a ticket. No one's really to blame, just one of those things.

Couldn't agree more.

If you go in the home end and can't behave yourself then you are running the risk of the other lot and the police/stewards not taking too kindly to it.

I was in the Main Stand with my dad and 5 mates.. We knew we were in the home stand so we didn't take the piss, yeah, we clapped when we scored did we get up and dance, no absolutely not.

We chatted with some of the Dale fans and I even bought an old couple sat behind us a half time tea. Of course I wanted to be in the away stand and yeah, part of me loved seeing the smoke bombs go off and seeing the melees made it a typical full bloodied derby. I remember being a young fan in the early 80's and it was these occasions you looked forward with and lets be honest, I bet some people on here were like little kids on Christmas eve on Friday night. I was, going to the Baum, seeing fellow tics all happy and dare I say, all agreeing that the club has seen to be turning a corner.

In all, apart from the odd knuckle dragger, who lets be honest, are in every town, I was proud to be an Oldham fan yesterday..

Putting them away the way we did was :censored:ing brilliant.!!!!!

I was there yesterday (in the main stand, sat on my hands as I didn't want to provoke any OAPs) - was it Oldham fans fighting amongst themselves or Rochdale fans having a go at them because they were celebrating? Just because away fans celebrate in your home end (although not a good idea) it's not an excuse to start a fight. I've sat at a lot of Oldham games surrounded by Utd and City fans and not felt like punching them when they've celebrated when they've scored.

Can you please define what a true fan is?

I'm unsure what that's supposed to mean!!

There was always going to Oldham fans in the rochdale end, the police did send people home for not having tickets but they would of never been able to send everyone one home who didn't have tickets, I'd image the majority of the trouble could of been prevented if we had been given the extra 400 tickets available, let's not let this take away from a brilliant away win against a fellow playoff pushing side.

Its not like either club wasnt aware, the club has some responsibility towards the safety of the crowd, the way the game was managed is shocking and needs looking at, fans always getting blamed for thugish behaviour but most of the fist flying yesterday were from the authorities and local stewards are they exempt from the law ?

Loads of empty seats near me. Or should that be space as everyone was stood up.

Actually that's a point was there any problem with people standing up in front of those who didn't want to yesterday?

There were some 16 year olds or so a couple of rows in front of me, stood up as the match started. Bloke in mid 40s behind grabbed them by the shoulders and forced them down. Not cool. The young 'uns walked off straight away. Think someone had a go at the older bloke for putting his hands on someone.

Yep, that was me who had a go at him. Thought he was out of order, but he reckoned one of the lads had pushed him...

Or the Rochdale keeper for seemingly hitting Kelly on the back of the head after the penalty?

Were we allowed in the pubs in the town centre after the match or were they closed as was rumoured?

Closed (with people inside)...walked what felt like 50 miles from spotland only to be shoehorned on to a tram... Was desperate for a pint too!

Same happened to us, only we went for a kebab and waited for the tram queue to die down.

When we left the Regal Moon at 2 the police wanted us to hang around so they could escort everyone to the ground. When it was obvious people were still suppin', they let us dive in a taxi.

I saw that police escort on my way into town. Grabbed a pic. Had a pint of Thatchers in the Baum and caught up the police escort by the ground.

We got in the Flying Horse around 6 with no bother, I suspect they may have turned us away if there'd been 15 of us drunkenly shouting at the bouncers though. People got what they were looking for yesterday,if you were looking for a fight you got one, if you weren't, you didn't.

The crowd was that raucous I actually feel quite sad because we're unlikely to see a crowd like that travelling like we did again this season. Like post holiday blues.

Great support, I'm not sure why some Dale fans are suggesting we should be ashamed.
