And suggestions that the club should be making a statement - why would they do that if they leading up to appointing him? They're not going to want to ruin the unveiling are they? Corney has always said the club was for sale, however the chairman came with the club. which might have put potential buyers off. to be honest would you buy a club in name only? thats loss making? we are not really a good investment in my mind unless you own it all and selling it on as a whole too. Agree with this, and with nzlatics' comment a couple of pages back. This was a Salford news conference and there was no way they would allow it to be hijacked by speculation about us. Scholes' comments make his appointment neither more nor less likely for me. A crumb of comfort (but that's all it is) is that Skybet have not re-opened betting, perhaps.
