Not what was said to the press.

Yeah but at the same time we told the press we signed McGahey and Leutwiler on 2 year deals. Only we weren’t allowed to sign players on 2 year deals due to the embargo.

I’m quietly confident that the rules of the embargo also prevent us from signing players on season long loans. I don’t think it is a coincidence that Bowden has left after 6 months (almost to the day). We presumably could resign Bowden on another half season deal.

Looking ahead - what does next season's squad look like? With no mo (fingers firmly crossed), you'd expect a lot of the lads with contracts up to be released...

Sam Hart (2022 with option)
Harrison McGahey (2023?)
Ousseynou Cisse (2022 with option)
Jamie Hopcutt (2022 with option)
Vani Da Silva (2023)
Hallum Hope (2022 with option)

End of contract
Danny Rogers (2022)
Jordan Clarke (2022)
Carl Piergianni (2022)
Dylan Fage (2022)
Kyle Jameson (2022)
Jack Stobbs (2022)
Raphaël Diarra (2022)
Will Sutton (2022)
Nicky Adams (2022)

Out of those with contracts up with new owners I would offer contracts to

Clarke a pay as you play deal

Adams

release the rest and recruit better

With the exception of the youth players - offer another year

Apart from the youth players.

Every single one can go for me.

I'd keep Piergianni, but I can see if we get an small fee in the window he will go, same with Bahamboula. Whelan is worth a contract on his low wage.

He's going to a League 1 club according to Spurs sources.

Absolutely no doubt in this and will end up higher than that.

No doubt the 'youre shit Eardley' brigade will be distracted and whistling whilst another 'shit' player moves upwards around them.

Wonder if they fall asleep every saturday night thinking we must have been on MoTD about 2317 after they dropped off.

Offer contracts to:

Piergianni  - most likely to be our player of the season

Clarke - right back only

Hart - when fit has shown himself to be a decent player

Whelan - showing a lot of promise

Adams - good out wide right

DKD - has an eye for goal

Bahamboula - if he’s interested then he’s worth his place

plus the younger players like Luamba, Da Silva if deemed good enough

The assumption is that Couto and Vaughan will be sold

Then bring in another dozen or so …

Piergianni is likely to be sold this window and whilst he’s decent in this side if we want to progress he is a clogger

Hart is under contract so that’s why I didn’t include him

DKD is shite and no amount of goal of the month will convince me otherwise - put him in a decent league squad and he makes the bench at best his overall game is laughable

If Dearnley is going to be more injured than fit for rest of season, does it make sense to pay up his contract and free up a place in the squad?

Or do we hope that he will recover and be able to chip in with some important goals before end of the campaign?

Id pay him off - he can’t seem to put his underpants on without pulling a hamstring

I'd rather get rid of Jameson. Dearnley may have covid and not be injured'

Interesting that Sutton has moved up a league after his time with Witton. That seems sensible planning by the club😮

If Da Silva can't catch at  Ashton and he's a part of our first team squad I'd be concerned long term.

If Modi and Kilner are getting games at NLN level then they must be doing something right and be highly thought of. They are still academy players- both Under 18? Southerington seems to have moved up in the goalkeeping standings.

Watched Hyde v Whitby  yesterday. Chenedu Uche ex youth playing for Hyde in midfield and played well. Went off injured which changed the game along with Whitby substitutions. Don't know how old he is now or where else he has been.
