Not sure Dave,

4 possibly of the top 5 'recently' promoted? which supports the best of NL competes with L2 argument

3 of the bottom 4 I'd think of as non league teams punching above their weight (- but these things all hinge on when you started watching football.)

Colchester will be on their 8th manager in 3 years- that feels like an indicator of decline.

Bottom 2 usually in full blown crisis though - us and Scunthorpe being the best example!

Went to Halifax v Altrincham yesterday. Talk from the Altrincham hierarchy is that Conn-Clarke is going to Peterborough...

MacAnthony's expecting a few quid for Clarke-Harris this month isn't he, so I wouldn't be surprised.

Didn't realise Bristol Rovers had agreed an £800k deal for JCH in the summer but ran out of time to complete it.

Think that is a fair observation Dave.

The bottom four maybe not full blown latics crisis but not sure any of them are healthy.

Don't know if anything is happening behind the scenes at FGR but they look on course for successive relegations

Sutton look like they have peaked

Rapid manager turnover at Colchester -You probably have more intel on what's happening there than I do

Hopefully Salford have peaked and we pass them on their way down

Sutton have a decent non-league pedigree, including famously knocking out the holders of the FA cup. Colchester are usually a decent lower level league club but have spent some time in non-league, but are probably on a downward trajectory. IIRC when we were leading against them in 2022 we were above them, so they aren't recent strangers to relegation peril in League 2.

Salford and Forest Green are glorified pub teams. Doesn't FFP cover the last 3 seasons, that might explain their issues, as it doesn't apply in the conference.

I'd quite like Salford to stay up until we get promoted and then for us to relegate them. But that's probably very wishful thinking.

I think the money man behind FGR is also funding "Just Stop Oil" so he may not be keeping as keen an eye on FGR as he once was. Plus they keep getting knocked back over a new ground, which may have implications for their FFP.

Where've they got that sort of money from?!

Bristol Rovers are co-owned by a Kuwaiti businessman and a Jordanian Banker.

Didnt stop them not submitting proper planning permission for their new stand though.

Another rumour from the same game is that JCH is going to Wrexham...

Feels a bit small minded to say but given they're a promotion rival that's a plus from our perspective.

A midfielder with 23 goals in 56 appearances…..Maybe he should have been a target for us instead of Lundstram?

Peterborough are brilliant in the transfer market…shrewd deals have made a fortune over the years.

Not shy at spending a fair few quid on lower league players with mere potential including plenty from non-league yet they’ve managed to sell them on for huge profits!

Must have a recruitment specialist similar to that of Unsworth & Thompson!!😂😂

l think we have established that Rhino was bobbins at putting a midfield together. lets see where we stand when the window closes. both our recent signings have been of calibre so lm expecting the CM incomings to be decent.

Gateshead's Stephen Wearne has signed for MK Dons.

He looked very useful for them last month, will be a blow for their playoff bid.

Lost their GK (Mair), Forward (Wearne), Main midfielder (Chadwick), RWB (Lofthouse) and two squad players in the last week. They certainly won’t be the same team we faced now.

And Ed Francis is out indefinitely after fracturing his skull on NYD.

I think Gatesheads season could drop off a cliff here with the squad being gutted and losing Williamson it's going to be hard to recover.

Where have the players they've lost gone?  On what we've seen this season I struggle to imagine anyone chasing their keeper

Derbyshire Times Gateshead

This article ahead of last nights game gives us some answers and yes the goalkeeper (I don't know if it's the same one) is one of those going to the EFL.
