Latics_Fanatic
Jamie Vardy scored goals in non league so David Dunns view of "it's league 2" shows just how clueless the :censored: is Rhys Murphy didn't score goals in League One... *Insert counter-argument about him not getting a chance*
Buckshawlatic
Rhys Murphy didn't score goals in League One... *Insert counter-argument about him not getting a chance* And Ricardo Fuller is tearing it up isn't he?
aaronoafc
Give me Murphy over Fuller all day long. It's not Murphy's fault when he was here we never saw any of his multiple clever runs he made a match and just hoofed it to him when he's up against a centre half a foot taller. The argument of its league 2 is bollocks, like someone said Above Vardy has scored in multiple leagues. I doubt he'll play for us again though unfortunately
SavageTheBeast
I'd rather have Murphy than that carthorse fuller. Dunn needs to look at our own striker before he belittles league 2. Jake Cassidy's record at league 2 was 0 for 12 at least Murphy is scoring at that level. Murphy was :censored: here and looked unift. He seems to have had a run of games and started scoring. We all know this is the strikers graveyard and if he starts for us he will be useless. We will probably end up selling him to Crawley for next to nothing just like Adam Rooney and Chris o'Grady. Stevie_J
Isn't Murphy due back this week? Played right, it could be a textbook loan deal. He hadn't found form here (I know he scored a goal in the game before he went out but one swallow... and all that). He's gone out, played regularly, started scoring and built some confidence. Providing he still wants to be at BP, this is the perfect time to throw him in to the starting line-up and hopefully the rest of the team can create the chances he needs to keep his goalscoring form going. Or it'll play out like the Chris O'Grady to Rochdale loan did.

But if Murphy did well that would make Dunn look like he'd made a poor decision sending him out. Sadly, I get the impression that it would be more important to him that that doesn't happen than it would be for Oldham Athletic to have someone upfront scoring goals... Will be interesting to see what happens. He could be saying it to protect Murphy from too high expectations. But if he doesn't bring him back, it will be another nail in the coffin for support for Dunn (what little he has), his judgment will be questioned as you say. Well, of course they do. He's been excellent. If we don't have him back I'd see it as a Holden-esque scenario - i.e. let's not bother because we don't have to. HarryBosch
So arrogant and he's not even the best manager we've had this season. If you take it to the calendar year he's produced the least entertaining football and the worst results of 4 managers...

Fruitygoo
Theres very little, if any, difference between league two and league one. Relegated teams dont always bounce back and those that come up dont always go straight back down. If you can score goals in league two, you can score goals in league one. The runs are the same, he just needs someone to pick him out.
HarryBosch
Rhys Murphy didn't score goals in League One... We'll only need him to until May the way it's going then he can be back in his happy hunting ground....

After watching us, Swindon, Port Vale and various League 2 teams this season, I'd agree that the gap is tiny, if there is even a gap at all. yarddog73
Did Playershare contribute to this signing? If so I'm going to have to question my support, along with the Fuller signing its not been good for the scheme.
Lee Sinnott
Crawley confirmed today that they are in talks with Oldham to extend his loan for another 3 months. Isn't three months the maximum you can have a short term loan for? If it's renewed, won't it have to be until the end of the season...? IceStationLatic
Isn't quite worrying that in a short timeframe we've had Rooney and Murphy move on and suddenly become deadly strikers. What does that say about our coaching.. Or the general mood and spirit at the club? And the people laughing it off because it's L2, they really need a wake-up call to the fact the difference in standard between L1 and that league us minimal. Hence why relegation would be an unprecedented disaster for our club.
