Also another week for doyle hunt and mcleeny to get fit. Plus Tuesday nights we got good record of winning!

Think could turn out very well in our favour, not playing on a Saturday without Doyle. Also when we play them Southend may have nothing to play for.

Was at Pride Park for a work thing a few weeks back.

They had a rig like this http://sglconcept.com/en/products/grass-lighting/led200-ir.html    running late into the evening.

Their website says Burton and Chesterfield have them ( as well as a lot of the more monied clubs) so maybe aren't that expensive.

Maybe not the top priority but...........

This is old, but guess where there is a will there is a way;

I understand groundstaff defending themselves.  It is not their fault that there is a repeated issue of historic poor communication by (past) club management, amongst clearly many other issues.

Fans raised money for scoreboard. Maybe would’ve raised some money for some lights if it was explained as an issue.

Their is a an understandable lack of trust on the fans part leading to sceptism over for example (but not limited to) a game being called off.

I don't think that's anything to do with getting frost out of the ground - LED lights don't produce much in the way of heat.

It's perhaps soon enough to say that the ground staff probably had real worries about their jobs when it was contracted out to an external company, and then again when they were working at Latics for said company who Corney wasn't paying the bills for. But yeah, inflatable covers and hot air machines. Lucky they had sand.

That isn’t for frost, it is to encourage grass growth.

But yes, we should get one of these.

Defo seen a picture of us using one but as you say for grass growth not melting ice. Should talk to plod and get those recovered from the drug seizures. Believe given other clubs equipment. Enough people about to construct a decent rig to house them.

Barry must still have a few contacts in the police to help us out with this.

Can we afford the electric now?

This is a great idea.

Dave- you are right when thinking about the leds used in typical lighting applications- say in a house where any heat is a waste (in summer).

The SGL website however suggests they can tune the output between visible and infra red so you can have light, heat or some combination of both.

I do think a locally fabricated rig using confiscated cannabis lamps might be the way to go though. If its only a relatively small strip that is a problem.

I'd have to agree that using confiscated cannabis lamps to grow grass is too neat a plan to turn down :)
