The reason is the reward is a place in the 5th round of the FA cup. This is worth more than a routine fixture in league 1 where the reward was securing our survival for 1 more year. For that reason aswell the atmosphere should be better. Normally take around 800 to Donny in the league, took about that for Dunn' first game when Donny had scored 1 goal in their opening dozen games and Dunn set up for and got a 0-0 draw. the_mighty_bosh
Despite last week I'd be surprised if we don't go with the 4-2-3-1 formation again. It'll probably be: Iverson Hamer Clarke Edmundson Nepomuceno Sylla Missilou Lang Baxter Branger Vera While it didn't work last week I think it's the right way to go this time out. They have a lot of attacking threats and giving the back 4 extra protection is probably the best way to go to begin with. The main concern is that Sylla needs to rise to the occasion. A big ask for only his 3rd game for the club but that's what's required. Not sure if O'Grady is fit enough to start, nor whether he's a better starter than Vera. If we keep the formation then it's probably the best chance that Baxter will get to step up. I'd absolutely love him to rediscover his form right at this moment and it could be the boost he needs too. Hunt should find himself somewhere in that team but if what LS said about AL wanting Branger in the starting line up then Hunt will probably find himself on the bench. Overall it's really disappointing that we go into a game like this with a squad that it's hard to be confident in. I really hope it doesn't turn out to be a missed opportunity. THIS is why Scholes won’t take the job. I’m still of the view 4,000 tics should let him know we are unhappy with him. “Fit & Proper, you’re having a laugh”.... We wont get any manager at all if he continues with his interfering antics, im surprised he didnt name his brother as manager.. We are currently his play thing and until he backs off the whole thing will go bang..

TheBigDog
Information from Dean Medcalfe - Supporters Liaison Officer at Doncaster: Hello everyone First, can I introduce myself I am the Supporter Liaison Officer (SLO) at Doncaster Rovers. I am here just to post a quick message and some information regarding your visit to the Keepmoat Stadium. On Saturday the Oldham fans will be allocated our North Stand and North East corner, myself and the stewards will be able to direct you if you need help. Parking is available at the stadium in car park 3 at the price of £5. Disabled parking spaces can be booked through the clubs Box Office by calling 01302 762576. Once you have arrived at the Keepmoat there will be food and drink available in the ground. If you would like a drink and a bite to eat before you enter the ground, then the away fans are welcome in the Belle Vue Bar (named after our former ground) which is located at the West Stand. Or Lemsagam simply tells Wild which players he has to (Branger, Sylla, Vera) and cannot (Duffus, Fane, Hunt) start and then expects him to follow his dictat, with severe bollockings administered if he doesn’t.... can you imagine Paul Scholes putting up with that? bluehobbit
Hunt simply has to start at left back... After a slow start he's done pretty well since about Tranmere away. He's a decent defender in either full back sport. Neop is the best crosser of a ball we have and if one on one with a full back he can normally find a yard to sling a cross in - which is about the only way Vera might score. Putting Nepo at left back hurts in 2 ways. If the chairman is insisting Branger plays then we may as well give up now. He's OK Branger a willing trier but Nepo is the better option out wide. To be honest playing loads of holding midfielders etc will see us get beat - it will be same as last weekend. We have no one to hold the ball up top. It will just come straight back and all Mac did in the middle of the park was be aggressive be first and kick it long or into a channel. Lang looked shattered/injured last week he didn't close down nearly enough so if we asking to cover every blade of grass we may struggle We have to play 2 up top to at least give us some breathing space and half a chance of someone producing something

deyres42
Pointless sitting back against these, will just get slapped. Don't think Butler will be having night tremors at the prospect of coming up against Vera.

nzlatic
Looks like there's an extra £250k on the table if we get through and Newport don't. https://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/news/2019/january/25012019-efl-statement/

singe
In even more potentially costly news, we could win £250,000 by being the League 2 winners for the Divisional Progression Fund. If us and Newport both go out tommorow, we woudl still get £125,000 each I tihnk.
