Coventry rumoured to be interested in Port Vale midfielder Chris Lines.
Apparently Gillingham and Oldham are also interested in the set-piece specialist.

on the Accy site he has the demeanor of Tarky about him and has scored 9 goals this season.....

Should we get him then a CB foursome of Murphy, Kusunga (if fit), Lockwood and Wilson seems pretty solid to me

Let's hope the LJ overtures of young group, young manager, new stand, progressing club etc can outweigh the monetary offers in the sense that he plays more games and will get attention if he does well rather than being just a number at clubs like Sheff Utd

Korey Smith to join Brentford for an undisclosed fee with Will Grigg going on a season long loan to Oldham as part of the deal. Should be tied up and announced by end of next week I'm told.

I do not know if it has been mentioned before on here but I have just been speaking to Dave Brierley (ex chairman)who said that Joe Royle has a job at Everton and will try to help Latics next season with loan signings from there.Personally I would like to see our own home grown ones come on but we will see.It all helps our cause though.

Didn't know this but sounds very promising. Prem clubs typically loan out players thinking of their own development as opposed to helping the lower league club. With Big Joe in charge I'm sure he'll know exactly what we'd need - as long as LJ is happy - and help us just as much as helping Everton.

At one time, all we did was take unwanted players from Everton, Leeds and Citeh..... most of which were a success:

Tommy Wright - Leeds

Denis Irwin - Leeds

Andy Linighan - Leeds

Andy Ritchie - Leeds

Roger Palmer - Citeh

Earl Barrett - Citeh

Paul Warhurst - Citeh

Neil Pointon - Citeh

Steve Redmond - Citeh

Rick Holden [2nd time around] - Citeh

Neil Adams - Everton

Ian Marshall - Everton

Graeme Sharp - Everton

Neil MacDonald - Everton

However, the world has changed greatly since those days. Where once we could compete to offer wages that were comparable/better than our more illustrious neighbours reserve teams, now we pay less than Premier League Elite Development Squads [EDS] - in effect their 3rd of 4th teams - and at best can only 'borrow' them. Its a sad indictment on the avaricious football industry/Premier League today.

In recent times, very few arrangement I can think of have come off:

Andreas Mancini - Citeh

Luca Scapuzzi - Citeh

Reece Wabara - Citeh

Albert Rusnak - Citeh

Ellis Plummer - Citeh

I hope Sir Joe can find one or two gems for us to borrow from Everton's EDS in the coming seasons.
